One of the saddest things for me about this whole bitter saga is RM, it appears he is just at the club to get his money back (understandably), and allegedly he will say or do anything to facilitate this happening.
He has taken the Roland shilling and now along with RD, Pinnochio and KF is considered the enemy. The line has been drawn and he is on the other side and after all the great work he has done for the club, for me this is a bad day in our history.
I will be there for the first protest, I will watch the match and then will join the second protest and I will be calling for RD, KM, CF and sadly RM to piss off.

    Parasite.
    Who? Care to elaborate?
I think he meant RM. I hope so, anyway!

I think it would help the protest if people were a bit pissed. We ran out of songs after about five minutes before Sheff Wed-the alcohol might bring out the creative juices in people whilst making us angrier (if possible) at the same time.

I'll be there and hope to be merry but will keep things clean with no xenophobia nor mentions of STDs.

Sssssh, people get on their soapbox about this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I tell you why Elfsborg addick ?

Because after having a couple in Bartrams and then having a few more in crossbars against QPR, i fell off the fuc#er !

Didn't mean to come across like a born again, but we could win a battle if not a war, and unlike Richard Dunn i don't want us to score own goals.

Lets stay united for the Athletic.

    Okay, friends again.

Next time you go for a drink choose another gaff, my first round!
I do like a happy ending
    Wrong forum !!

Not a good idea for me. 10 mins into protest and I'll want another wee. Can't see them letting me back in to use the toilet.
    I sympathise with that!

We need to make this big. The 90minutes inbetween mean fuck all in the long term, let's raise awareness and get our foot on the ladder up towards RD and swipe him down to earth claiming OUR club back while we are at it.

@Airman Brown to what degree do you think is Murray aware of the discontent?

Was his call prompted by the mainstream press coverage, the chanting on Monday just gone or are they following Social Media as well?

It may seem like a stupid question, but this lot seem adept at missing the blinding obvious!!

Edit - of course he will have read VOTV - but main question still stands!!!

I'm sure he's very aware, but of course until it is takes the form of large numbers protesting in person much of it can easily be dismissed as the preserve of fanatics on message boards, etc, i.e. the 2%.

Incidentally, I think the idea that RM is in it to get his money back is misconceived. He chose to leave money in the club in 2010 (Jimenez takeover) in order to remain on the board. I think it's much more personal in his case.
    Airman
You do realise it's more than 2%, right?

    ;-)
  • I will be there before and after to protest but if you want me and many others to lessen the might and power pf the protest then just start the same old slagging of any personalities countries etc as you will find I and many like me start to drift away pretty quickly and by 5pm you will have failed in uniting the charlton supporters (man woman child) so I beg you to keep people like me on board for the sake of the club and the effect this protest has.

    Absolutely
  • It is for the people of all characters and none to show some courage and not get pissed and therefore lend themselves to the possibility of becoming objectionably obscene. As soon as it kicks off people will leave as they only want to be part of a protest that takes itself seriously. Is it too much to ask those 20 or so lead singers to bear this in mind? There are plenty of songs without obscenities and with lots of clever banter in them that can keep everyone involved. Please please do your best to bear this in mind.

Yes, but it's probable, that the men/lads most likely to "offend you", aren't CL members.

  • If the car park exit gate's blockaded, maybe those sat in the queue of traffic can sound their horns in support of 'Duchatelet: You're not wanted here'.

Don't let the daft minority ruin what you are fighting for, if a rowdy few start getting aggy and swearing in a pub you're in, would you leave that also? Just because you're in the same crowd as them it doesn't mean you agree with what they are saying. We have to remember this is football, and it'll be young angry fans after some alcohol, essentially fighting for their club. Swear words will happen and rude sentiments may too, but to them that is nothing compared to seeing the Football Club of their future being torn apart (I know older men do the same too, just an example)

Either way try to stick with it, if you need to remove yourself, stick to a further back point perhaps and keep within seeing distance?
  • Due to my wife being admitted to hospital tonight I will no longer be able to attend either protest or match but would like to wish you all the very best of luck. COYR!!!

Richard Murray is losing his Marbles if he thinks Karel Fraeye is the man to get us out of this mess

Also no chance of getting his money back with a promotion to the premiership because that ain't never going happen under Duchatelet and Meire. Doesn't make any sense, because with a potential take over, or a properly resourced club, there is a chance that he will get his money back. Why would Murray stick with Duchatlet, when Charlton are running close to relegation or being relegated every season ?
    Exactly.
Murray is backing the wrong people if he thinks the Belgian Mafia will ever get Charlton back to the Premier League.

He will never get his loan back.

And considering he appointed Dowie, Reed and Pardont, he obviously does not know what he is talking about regarding the feckless Fraeye.

Fraeye is obviously well out of his depth. Sad to say this, but maybe Murray always was, too. But was able to ride Curbishley and Varney's coattails during the Premier League years.
