***Could someone from the club please explain how this is progress.***

After such a bold statement from the CEO, Katrien Meire at the recent meeting that each managerial appointment had led to progression, could she now justify and explain where it is to the supporters of Charlton Athletic?
Only it is quite difficult to spot where two years of progression is evident in our performances and League position.
Katrien, this really needs a proper full and respectful answer from the club you oversee.
Because at the moment your reputation and credibility are in tatters. Not just here, but increasingly across football. People are beginning to notice. We have not got the biggest fan base, but a lot of people have a certain affection for us.
Someone in the club needs to recognise that there needs to be some answers and some proper action to rectify what is happening.
Over to you owners of Charlton Athletic.

  • She's met the 'fans' so that's the "engage with the customers" box ticked on her annual appraisal. I doubt there will be any further exchanges, just glib messages and press releases about targets, sofas and season tickets.

As Meire reminded us neatly a year ago at the time of the Luzon appointment debacle:

“Of course I can understand their frustration and they have every right to be [frustrated],” she said. “But I hope they understand the owner wants the best for Charlton. He does it his way and they need to accept that.

“They will not always agree with our decisions. No fans in the world will always agree with the decisions of the board. I always try to take into account the fans, but sometimes you have to make hard decisions.

But that just cannot cut it anymore, you can get away with those sort of comments if you are doing reasonably ok, or just a little better, but this is now a completely different matter.
We are back where we started, looking worse off, losing games heavily. So where is this progress ?

But according to Meire, at that fans meeting a few weeks ago - we are doing better
  • I can't see Adolf or his little Eva making any more statements in the near future.
  • I know, but that was before where we are now with our recently appointed Interim Head Coach.
The time has come for a proper response from the club on what is happening.

“We hope Karel Fraeye will change things and bring us back to mid-table which we have the squad for. We believe we have a better squad than our position. He has identified problems. We will give him all the help he deserves."

How's that help working out then?

I'll give him help to the nearest job centre

Erm @Stig was the mis-spelling of "Ignorance" deliberate, or an immaculately timed typo?

I took it to be deliberate
  • She is as we speak preparing a fantastic professional Powerpoint presentation like the last one......oops a bit of pee came out then through laughing.

  • We have some journalist fans?
Surely they should be getting the story out there on a national scale? If not personally then through the many contacts they will have?

I do believe that Jonathan Maitland is a Charlton supporter - perhaps he could use "Tonight" to present our case.
  • Ingsoc (Newspeak for English Socialism or the English Socialist Party) is the political ideology of the totalitarian government of Oceania in George Orwell's dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four.
  • I can only think that the word "progress" means something completely different in Flemish.

    Any suggestions ?

And if you asked her today she would probably claim the last month has been one of unbridled success.
  • Now will the sodding trust do something???

    Haaaaahaaaa no they won't
  • Wishful thinking....Well goodnight folks, that's it from me
  • Colin where are you?
