Who knows? But one question....if he's such a good signing and was free, why didn't they sign him to help Luzon out instead of letting him struggle with a paper thin squad then sack him??

They're clearly trying to work on improving us so we become 'competitive' in this league.

It was stated in the meeting that Mark Stow generally does the scouting for UK based players. It's likely he was recommended to the club by Stow.3

I agree that it should be given a rest and that they're trying to work on improving us so that we become competitive, what I do agree with though is the fact that its a shame that they couldnt do this for Luzon when we had all the injuries, instead of now when we have a squad to choose from2

Judging by what was said the other night there would have been several people weighing up the signing, KF could have nixed it but then he can't wait until January for a turnaround to happen. I guess Vaz Te was judged the best current option - salary, playing side, match readiness?

Probably the player was recommended to the club by his agent.
That's what agents do.

I heard a rumour that the player's agent had emailed the club asking for a trial a while ago - but gave up waiting for a reply.
So he told the player to just turn up at Sparrows Lane anyway.

Can I have a guess? Laptop Larry in Brussels with his databank full of metrics.
Can Vaz Te play more than two games a week without getting injured? If he can and is physical enough to play against Championship defenders, then he is an improvement on some of the current bunch. I hope his character, physical fitness, team-work and ability to play under pressure, was all assessed when our scouts watched him in his last match. He should be able to pick up the pace of the Championship with his previous experience, unlike some of the recent mis-fits recommended by the internet twins.
I assume this is a Mark Stow recommendation as the new Chief Scout, replacing Phil Chapple. It will be interesting to see how he goes. Previously at Watford, Southend United and Exeter City as Chief Scout, so he's come up the hard way. If he is recommending Players with Championship experience, I hope the Klueless One is listening!5 -
