Exactly, and that's exactly what I immediately thought when listening to it. How those there didn't challenge her on points like that is beyond me.shirty5 said:The reason why 5 academy kids have made their debuts in the first team this season, is because the squad is too small. Needs must if you get injuries/suspensions early on.
Only 2 academy kids had made their debuts in the first team up to the middle of November (Gomez & KAG) last season, as suspensions and injuries had not kicked in then.
The squad was too small last season. That has not changed this season. Not learned from their mistakes.
Maybe the full video will reveal more.0 -
It's just they same old garbage isn't it. 'We want to be a competitive Championship club with Premier League ambitions'. Great. So do we. So does everyone. But what are they actually doing about it? For the past two and a half seasons we've either signed totally inadequate players (Nego, Piotr, Lepoint) or signed decent players who have barely played any football in the past year making them injury concerns (Mak, Kashi, Ceballos), and we've never had a sufficiently deep squad to challenge. Add to that the fact we've had five different managers because they keep employing inadequate ones or not retaining decent ones and it makes the stated key aim completely pointless. There's no point stating your objective like it matters if you don't approach achieving it in the right way. She may as well have said our ambitions are to win the Champions League on seven consecutive occasions starting from next year, it would be about as useful.
Was she really pressed on the lack of depth in the squad (two seasons running) and the wildly hit and miss nature of player acquisition?3 -
That was awkward watching7

Because we wanted to control the way in which we asked our questions, rather than get dragged into the club's agenda. Albeit that proved a little tricky with a slippery mic.Addickforlife said:Why did no one challenge some of that stuff she was saying in the presentation? It's clearly rubbish.
She even asks for interruptions and questions and only one person asks anything?!2 -
1-0 down away from home against mk dons. Let's bring on a 17 year old for his debut.. Well done everyone.4

Fair enough. As I keep telling myself, will wait for the full video! Albeit that is proving hard when rubbish like that presentation comes out first!rikofold said:

Within the first minute with the patronising tone of "I thought we explained this several times" and the mocking of the 'black and white'.
I can already tell the full video is going to wind me up.22 -

I noticed she didn't have the league table up on her crappy presentation.23
-
She wants to grow attendances to 20k. The simple way is to be successful on the pitch, surely, not gimmicks? All the stats re player investment etc are great but the on-field results show this has failed which is entirely down to the selections made those running it.2
-
She's really boring unless she's saying something absolutely ridiculous. I actually prefer that.
The fact that it's just boring repetitive gargle shows lack of passion, empathy and general understanding. No ones gana take any notice of a sarcastic, yet persistent liar.
Not expecting stand up comedian but come on love show a bit of emotion, at least, apart from when you defend yourself personally.
Not exactly gift of the gab, couldn't sell a free bacon sandwhich.

It may have been there but given her control of the PowerPoint presentation was poor she may have accidentally missed itstonewallpenalty said:I noticed she didn't have the league table up on her crappy presentation.

If you knew none of the background you would think she was talking about a happy, successful club. A series of good managers, spending on new players who are signed to longer contracts, lots of things such as entertainment in lounges, a new season ticket system, aspirations to 20k attendances. Superb. The reality suggests the fans are pissed off and the league table suggests that the team is simply not functioning.7

Taking on board the comments that she had already told us before and mentioning the black and white, I thought it was a good presentation.
It does, indeed, confirm their strategic goal(s) even if it doesn't explain how they intend to achieve them.
I didn't think she presented very well but chances are I have an exceptionally talented group of friends and peers in this regard so I might have been comparing her to the wrong group. She wasn't helped by the distortion from the microphone, and the question from the audience was not loud enough to hear which is a worry for what to espect from the whole meeting video.
Some observations that I think might question the true value of the clubs achievements:
When she says we are the most affordable club in London is that just comparing the £150 season tickets? I ask because they are completely sold out and unless you have one I don't believe you can't get one. Also some (maybe many) of them sit elsewhere so they shouldn't be getting them for that price and are not occupying the seats that they are paying for.
The point about paying academy players that are not good enough and in games that we lose is not as impressive as it sounds, but has already been mentioned.
The £9m on transfers is useless unless we know what the net spend it. If Joe gomez did go for £6m then, with Kermorgant and Stephens alone, the £1.1m previously doesn't seem so small.
I also note that she didn't hang around on the photo of the fans on the Sofa, which I believe has gone now.
As I say, overall, it is a well put together presentation, but I wouldn't have expected any less. It is, also, very one sided, but that#s exact;y what I would expect too.
I loved that JJ arrived after she started!2 -
Your crash into Igor making his come back and he will be out for another year !DamoNorthStand said:

Fly what ? A plane or a drone ?DamoNorthStand said:We need a quick response (well as quick as it can be with a gap till the next home game).

Nice and simple. Costs from £595. Clear banner with KATRIEN AND ROLAND OUT.
TV game means the cameras and commentators would refer to it. Fly over the ground at kick off.
Make that £545 as I will lay down £50 to get the ball rolling.
If anyone is interested PM me - gonna call them in the morning.
I don't think you'll get permission for a plane.

Apologies if it's already been mentioned - I've tried to trawl through 30 odd pages but was beginning to lose the will to live. Is there an official (early) evaluation of the meeting from the Trust? Do the Trust believe that continuing to campaign for meaningful dialogue is still the way to go?

Please! she must really take us for 24 carat idiots.
On the academy........
(Not verbatim)
'5 academy players made their debuts, this means that will be our advantage over the other prem league teams'
No it doesn't (with no disrespect to those players) it means we dont have enough senior experienced players at the club, and when we have injuries we have to rely on a bunch of kids.
What bloody world does she live in........?13 -
KM is a (province of) Limburg peasant girl, who doesn't know how to dress, has greasy hair and strikes me as someone with a degree but no real competence. I wouldn't even hire her as a lawyer if my neighbour was complaining I had to cut a tree or some other BS. She's a bloody disgrace to her country and I hope she falls in love with some handsome (but stupid) Inuit bloke, whom she'll follow to open a B&B somewhere in the outskirts of Anchorage.23

From what I have read and been able to see so far, this seems to have been an easier ride for the Meire/Murray dream team than the 'grilling' Kim Jong Un faces from the North Korean parliament7
-
I see nothing in this presentation that explains the actual strategy to become a 'competitive championship club with premiership ambitions'.InspectorSands said:
