    Yep, torn emotions.

Funny because it was Ferrari/shame for Leclerc.

Touch for Hamilton - one of the most underappreciated British sportsmen with Ronnie O'Sullivan IMO.
Being the best at snooker is world’s tallest midget territory for me.
Funny post I admit, but can't agree.

Snooker is one of the hardest sports there is. 147... absolute joke. Complete respect for the guys on tour. Ronnie however is a freak of nature in the Messi/Ronaldo/Federer/Kohli mould.
Yeah a 147 is impressive, but so is Derren Brown’s live show but that doesn’t make him a sportsman.

Its hard to to define precisely what a sport is, but to me, if you can smoke and drink while you’re playing, which snooker players literally did for many years.... well it’s not really a sport. I don’t dare question anybody enjoying watching the game, I just don’t think Ronnie is a sporting hero. Comparing him to Messi is hilarious to me.
Totally get where you're coming from, although I'd put sitting in a car in the same bracket.
I guess that's why it's 'motor sport' - it's a sub-genre of sport. I'd put snooker and darts into the 'pub games' category.

I could spend the next ten years practicing darts or snooker every day, and by the time I am 50, I suspect I would be pretty decent and capable of giving some pro players a decent game.

But if I spent that time learning to drive around a racetrack or kicking a football, I absolutely wouldn't be able to play even close to professional level, let alone like Messi, or indeed handle an F1 car which is an insanely hard thing to drive. Not to mention physically exhausting.
    You really, really wouldn't.
I disagree, darts is a sport/game that I believe you could make yourself a professional at with enough practice. Maybe not be able to beat Van Gerwen but I think with 8 hours practice a day you would be good enough to compete for money.

You could certainly hone a good technique with extensive practice - but competing for money as a professional is more about what's going on between the ears.

I once knew a guy who was a lunatic, psychopathic chav. Real nutcase. A lot of drink a lot of drugs. He played darts a fair bit. About ten years ago he got into what he described as the 'FA Cup of darts'. He practiced relentlessly in the three months before his match, and lost to a former world champion of some sort. But he beat him in a few legs. I know it's true, cos he was on Sky Sports and all my mates came over to watch it. He got a 180, that was his highlight.

So yes, he really, really did. Sure, he had some base skills, but it was relentless practice that made him competitive.

Comparing that to the talent of Lionel Messi is laughably ridiculous.

Some how won his first race of the season today @ Bahrain but showed his absolute class with his radio communication to his team whilst on his victory lap by expressing his disappointment for Leclerc who was clearly going to win himself until he had an engine problem - Certainly see the youngster from Monaco causing problems for Ferrari | Vettel | Hamilton this season!!

Yes it was a class response.

Also hilarious to see Vettel shit the bed in wheel to wheel combat with Lewis.

    Yet again.
I don’t know if their is a sportsman anywhere whose career achievements are so mismatched to his actual level of talent. I’m not saying he has zero talent, but genuine 4 world title class he most certainly is not.

Vettel was in the right car at the right time during that blown diffuser era at Red Bull, and was very lucky to have a fairly average driver for a teammate in Mark Webber.

As as soon as Danny Ric showed up at Red Bull Vettel was getting shown up. He dominated Kimi at Ferrari, but Kimi has been even more average than Webber was since coming back from Rallying.

I fully expect LeClerc is going to show him up in just the same way that Ricciardo did. I’d say Vettel is probably the 5th fastest driver on the grid, at best. He’s increasingly hot headed and cracking whenever he’s put under any pressure too.

In the right car Vettel is one of the fastest. His biggest weakness is that he doesn't have the race craft of Hamilton, but he shouldn't be put down as much as some are doing. I think Hamilton views him as a bigger threat this season and his shoes, so would I.
Vettel was so reliable when he was in the fastest car. He didn't make mistakes, and he has had races that showed he is a hell of a driver (coming back from last place and so on).

After he won his last title, he seemed to be quite laid back and I grew to like him more. He was gracious in defeat (I guess he knew he'd had some good times and perhaps they'd come back again). But he's increasingly getting frazzled and losing his cool in crucial moments. This weekend he and Hamilton were running at similar speed, which hasn't happened too often, and what happened to Vettel was quite revealing.
Which puts him in the, say, Jenson Button class. With 4 world titles to bis name, statistically at least, he is up around Hamilton, Senna, Prost, Fangio, which is not really his level at all, imo.

I think darts is a game where you can make yourself good with enough practice, but you will hit a wall where your talent ends. I suppose it depends on where your wall is but it would be very difficult to get to the top. The top players do have to practice an incredible amount to stay there though.

He is very quick but can't drive under pressure at the same level Hamilton can. But not many can do that to be fair.

I thought that the organisers of F1 were trying to make the sport more competitive. Hadn't realised that Mercedes had the 1-2 in all four races so far which doesn't exactly suggest that they are succeeding does it?

Ferrari have messed up with team orders and had engine issues preventing LeClerc from winning in Bahrain.

I think it's close between both teams, alot closer than the results so far have shown

I've got to agree with Jimmy, one of the most boring "races" I have ever seen. Apart from the drag race to the first corner Hamilton was never challenged, he is the best but the others are a long way back.

But I never get bored of seeing Ferrari doing everything possible to screw up. They are supposed to be the racing team but the Sky commentators seem to know strategy better.

I’m finding the whole sorry team orders situation Ferrari have got themselves into brilliant. The way they’ve flip-flopped on it and got it wrong pretty much every time is hilarious.
The apparent indecision yesterday was ridiculous and I (almost, but not quite seriously) think they may have put LeClerc on a different tyre strategy purely to give themselves a justification for any team orders they may have wanted to make later. And even that was a cock up due to the safety car coming out.
Admittedly, the race was dull, but Ferrari cock ups are helping the viewing experience.

Charles LeClerc getting knocked out in Q1. By Vettel, ironically.
No reason for him not to do an extra run, but they chose not to. It’s like their team is being run by Frank Spencer.
It’s his home race too, so he is furious.

Controversy today. Vettel given 5sec penalty for ‘unsafe reentry’ during the race.
Leading by 2 secs at the mo, so might hand the victory to Hamilton.
This one will be talked about for a while.

I’m torn on this one. The footage is inconclusive to me. I do think he could’ve done more (after making a mistake) to avoid squeezing Hamilton out, but I don’t think it’s clear enough to penalise.
I want Hamilton to win, so I’m pleased, but it does seem to have ruined the race.
Having said that, Vettel saying “They’re stealing the win from us” makes him sound like a spoilt brat. I would say that losing control at the chicane where the incident happened is what lost you the race, mate.

    Vettel still complaining.
    ”It’s not fair”
Maybe not, but like I say, it was your mistake.

Pete Bonnington (Hamilton’s engineer) just said to Lewis:
”Great drive, you forced the mistake, well done”
    Hamilton responded:
”Not the way I’d want to win, but we’ll done everyone”.

Both of them absolutely spot on in my opinion.

He might've lost control but he recovered it, ridiculous decision. Season is boring enough as it is and as soon we get an interesting race they ruin it.

I agree to an extent, but I also think his mistake was that he was trying to both recover and stay ahead of Hamilton, and he couldn’t do both without endangering Hamilton. That’s my best interpretation of the stewards decision. Not saying I agree necessarily.
I do think it was harsh.
Having said all that, Vettel’s histrionics at the end are starting to piss me off. Grow up you big baby.
