Could we be ruining our young players

  • We are playing the wrong kids - skilful but lightweight and liable to be bullied by bigger, experienced opponents. We need youngsters who have the physical attributes like Gomez, Poyet, Fox and Cousins whose skills maybe not fully developed but will learn. Earmark Lennon, Konza, Aribo, Hanlan and Umerah rather than our jewels like Edwards, Lookman, and KAG. Pigott and Harriott are proven better than some of our starters at the English game. We can blood an U21 in an organised side but not play several in a clueless shambles.

This is the problem with English Football as a whole though...

We're too concerned about bringing through big physical players who get turned inside out against the skillful sides like Germany and Spain

Its like Scotland U19s got blasted a few months ago for going for a squad of big players whilst ignoring Jack Harper who is small quick and skillful (one of their brightest prospects who was with Real Madrid at the time yet now with Brighton)

Concentrate on bringing through this type of player (like what Charlton and Southampton are doing) and the National Team may stand a chance in the future because we'll have players who'll know what to do with the ball instead of only knowing how to kick lumps out of their opponent
