Pope - 3. Sorry but just get rid. Future elsewhere.

Solly - 2. Pants performance. Looked like he didn't care. Take the armbands away please.

Sarr - 2 accident waiting to happen. How the f@@k did this guy play champions league?

Diarra - 5. Tried hard. Lone fight against the odds

Fox - 2. Dogshit. Tried hard but he's just not got it. Crossing particularly inept.

Bergdich - 1 I've never given a 1 before. He gets it for remembering to tie his bootlaces.

Ba - 2 as bad as Bergdych but tried harder.

    Cousins - 3. Headless chicken.

Holmes-Dennis - 3 utterly anonymous but shouldn't have been out there.

Ahearne-Grant - 3 worst performance since he came in.

Watt - 5. Tried hard but up against it. Ended up playing right back. Farcical.

McAleny - 2 bugger off back up the motorway.

Makienok - 6. Tried ever so hard but with no support. Bit of a drama queen at the end. Bless.

Jackson - 3. Fulham was a fluke. His best days are past. Player coach role please.

    MOM - you're having a giraffe.
  • Pope - 5
    Solly - 4
    Sarr - 3
    Diarra - 4
    Fox -3
Bergdich - 1 seen him at left back and both wings. Absolutely fucking useless
Ba - 2 awful. His second touch is a tackle
    Cousins - 3 anonymous
    Holmes-Dennis - 4
    Ahearne-Grant - 4
Watt - 4- bright first half, spent the second half playing far too deep and limping about pretending to be injured for the last 20 mins. Pathetic
    McAleny - 3
    Makienok - 5
    Jackson - 5

Luzon- 0 mental team selection. Playing 3 left backs?! Are you trying to get the sack..?
  • Daniel Johnson - only 8.5, would have been a 9.5 or a 10 if he'd put in that performance against a team that wasn't conducting its own funeral rites

    Right,

Pope - 4 I've had absolutely enough of him tbh, first two goals he was limp as lettuce. Fortunately not going to play for another couple of weeks until Hendo's shoulder goes again
Solly - 5 Poor Solly. Lying there on the byline after scuffing the ball out for a goal kick at the end I just wanted to hug him
Sarr - 5 Didn't have a good game, but thought he was our better defender today
Diarra - 4.5 Not great by his standards, not good either
Fox - 5 Some woeful passing but I liked how angry he got
Bergdich - 4 Not a great half, really, but I don't think he had much of a chance to impress given where he was playing and what service he had. Would be comfortable with him never playing for us again
Ba - 5 At least he tackles (mostly) well
Cousins - 4 Completely and utterly anonymous. Beginning to have doubts about him tbh - he is homegrown and he puts a shift in but he never seems to control a game. Johnson taught him a university course today
Holmes-Dennis - 6.5 Gave us a bit of sparkle down the flanks. Nippy, got a trick on him, put a couple of dangerous balls in. Keep him out there when JBG comes back on the right
Ahearne-Grant - 3 Utterly abysmal. Not really his fault. Well, sort of actually.
Watt - 7.5 Oh for three of him
McAleny - 6.5 Gonna sound weird but the best I've seen of him, looked very lively
Makienok - 6 Did what we know he can do
Jackson - 4.5 Nah, he didn't do it today

I've still been nice and generous, see
  • Pope - 6
    Solly - 5
    Sarr - 4.5
    Diarra - 5
    Fox - 5.5
    Bergdich - 3
    Ba - 3.5
    Cousins - 5
    Holmes-Dennis - 5
    Ahearne-Grant - 5
    Watt - 6
    McAleny - 4
    Makienok - 5
    Jackson - 5.5

No one at all deserves a man of the match in my opinion.
  • Pope - 4 thought the goals were poor defending rather than his fault.
Solly - 3.5 played OK, loses one for not being a captain
    Sarr - 3
    Diarra - 4.5 tried
Fox - 4.5 I know he gets pelters on here, he put in effort and was one of our better players and showed some passion.
    Bergdich - 2 not good
Ba - 2 can someone tell him he needs to pass to the guys in red, at fault for the FK for first goal
Cousins - 4.5 kept going. Would make a better captain than Solly
Holmes-Dennis - 4.5 first half was anonymous, improved after JJ and Mak came on
    Ahearne-Grant - 3.5 not fair on him.
Watt - 5 selfish player, but with that lot going on, perhaps not selfish enough. Looked livelier
McAleny - 3.5 not sure what he brings. Not the sub we needed at the time
Makienok - 6 showed some passion and ability. Stood out (though that wasn't hard)
Jackson - 4.5 made an impact, not enough of one though

No MOM. If it is, should be Makienok.

Fox - 4 PNE allowed him space cos they knew he could do naff all with it
Bergdich - 2 worst performance I've ever seen by a Charlton player

Cousins - 4 needs to step back and think about his game
Holmes-Dennis - 7 I thought he did well considering what was going on around him
    Ahearne-Grant - 4 same comment every week, needs a League 1 loan
Watt - 7 tried hard, must be hacked off with what's going on around him
McAleny - 6.5 tried to find space when came on

  • Pope 5 the whole of the North stand could see where the free kick was going why couldnt he
Solly 5 when ewe have other little fellas in our team we and he can't cope with the phsycality of Championship sides
Sarr 6 better than most tonight
Diarra 4 worst game from him n by far compounded by, dare I say it ,a typical heads down French response when the first goal went in. He really should be showing more leadership
Fox 4 Given him the benefit of the doubt before but dreadful tonight including a poor header for their 3rd
Bergditch 4 why play him there?
Ba 4 my glass has been half full about him up until now but it's now empty
Cousins 6 better than most, at k least tries
Holmes - Dennis 5 showed some nice touches but should never have been thrown in, lacked confidence and will be further knocked.
Aherne Grant 4 clearly not ready for this leve. Gave ball away in lead up to the free kick for their first from a good attacking position
Watt 4 a one trick pony and everyone's learnt his trick
Mcaleny 4 send him back. Completely ineffective again
Jackson 5 he's not as good or talismatic as we all hope he will be
Makienok 7 the one ray of hope if he can stay fit.
  • All of them 2 with the exception of watt 6 and Makienok 6. If Fox Berdich or Sarr ever play for Charlton again were deserve to go down.

  • For those who watched the match this evening your marks please:

Pope - 6 I'll have to see the first free kick again but don't think any of the goals were his fault, I think the defence fucked up the second one but I'll have to see again.
    Solly - 5 didn't play very well
Sarr - 4 poor in the air, poor tackles, poor passing
Diarra - 6 our best defender, actually made tackles and won headers
    Fox - 5 didn't play well
Bergdich - 4.5 what is his best position? We've been told he's a left back and a left winger, didn't look like either.
Ba - 4.5 started alright, won some tackles then it all went to shit, poor touch and passing
Cousins - 4.5 worst game I've seen from him, disappointing.
Holmes-Dennis - 6 thought he did very well considering the awful time to make a debut. Actually put in crosses and looked pacey. Had to play in 3 positions over the course of the game and did a hell of a lot better on the right wing than Bergdich did.
Ahearne-Grant - 5 didn't play well but I'm not sure what he could of done, feeding off absolutely fuck all from the midfield.
Watt - 5.5 one of the few that looked like he could create something, didn't play well but looks like he could, played too deep to take advantage of Makienok's knockdowns.
McAlney - 5 Looked better than Bergdich because he sort of controlled the ball, wasn't great.
Makienok - 6.5 Won headers, held up the ball in a team that is designed for a target man.
    Jackson - 5 didn't play too well
  • Pope 5 - No chance with any of the goals

    Solly 5 - Far from a captain's performance
Diarra 5 - Seemed panicky at times
Sarr 2 - A long way from ready
    Fox 4 - Rabbit...headlights

    Bergdich 1 - Shocking
    Ba 2 - Shocking
Cousins 4 - Hard to believe he got caught up in the debacle
Holmes-Dennis 5 - Worked his socks off but had a shower of shite around him

Watt 5 - Worked hard, but gave up long before the end in the absence of any kind of service
KAG 3 - Forgot he was out there

Mcaleny 3 - Wrong sub, made zero difference
Jacko 4 - That's two goals within a minute of him coming on
Makienok 6 MOM - Seemed to care about his and the team's performance.

Luzon 1 - I rarely use this phrase, but has he lost his dressing room? Last night's performance seemed to betray a malaise among the squad.

    2's across the board

Ok now that I have thought it through

Pope - 3 poor position for the free kick, the ball didn't nestle in the top corner it was about waist height ffs! Also, though the wall didn't help as they didn't bother jumping, the onus is on the keeper to organise the wall. Also managed to drop a cross out of play for a corner, and doesn't talk to his defence enough.
Solly - 2.5 shit captain, not positive enough on the ball, couldn't get the armband off quick enough when JJ came on. Got caught out of position a few times by a mediocre attack, he's been bang average so far this season and we have no backup
Sarr - 2 for a 6'5" guy, he can't defend and has no physicality to him whatsoever, poor player
Diarra - 4 one of our better players, but still had a crap match, outmuscled easily, gave away a couple of poor fouls and turned way too easily and too often
Fox - 1.5 where's that Man United contract now? Summed up his performance in the first 10 seconds, fell over, got up, sliced ball out of play.
Bergdich - 2 a left wing back playing right midfield, will never work, unless said player is Gareth Bale. But that doesn't hide the fact he doesn't track back, can't pass for sheiße, and didn't bother closing the man down for the second goal
Ba - 1 complete donkey, again can't pass, but that'll be the hooves, and can't tackle either, in fact he can barely run properly, his arms and legs seemingly flailing about with no direct correlation to which ever direction he's trying to go in
Cousins - 2 worst game in a Charlton shirt, was sitting on the grass so much i thought he would break out a picnic basket at one point, and waited 30 yards to foul the player in the first minute, allowing them to get close enough to score from the free kick.
Holmes-Dennis - 4.5 not a good game to start in, but I thought for a full debut playing out of position he did OK.
Ahearne-Grant - 3.5 if he's the best attacking prospect he have produced in a while then I wonder how we score so many goals at youth level. Toothless, and doesn't link with.....
Watt - 1 lazy, ball hogging, sweaty jockstrap. If things aren't going right for Watt, and by God are they going horribly right now, then he sulks. He needs a reality check, maybe Reza should start ahead of him on Saturday.
McAleny - 3 ran around a lot, but he's no better or worse than our own players, so why is HD here on loan?
Makienok - 5 needs to start when fit, as suddenly out meaningless punts upfield have a focal point.
Jackson - 4 didn't do a lot when he came on, but the game was fecked anyway
  • Men against boys. Tactically inept! No MoM.

Pope - 5; Another free kick goal conceded - must get his positioning right at these!
Solly - 5; No leader; took an age to get him the ball when in space 1st half.
Sarr - 4.5; Bambi on ice at times, but did look reasonably solid through the middle.
Diarra - 5; Gives away silly FK's just outside box and was lucky not to see red IMO. Needs to step up as leader!
Fox - 2; Attrocious. Dis-interested. Two wayward shots and a scuffle booking apart, did nothing bar stand on the left wing all game.
Bergdich - 2.5; Why play him on the right? Poor positioning gave Reach far too much space. Not a clue.
Ba - 2; Really was very poor. Over-powered, and contributed nothing. One decent dance forwards was followed by a weak shot.
Cousins - 4.5; Outnumbered and controlled; poor from Jordan when we know he can do much better.
Holmes-Dennis - 5.5; Decent full debut; good skill, but passing decision sometimes let him down.
Ahearne-Grant - 4; Seemed confused. Do I make a run when I know the ball has no chance of being played up to me, or do I stand here and wait?
Watt - 6; I'm being generous; looked dangerous in first half but when Makienok came on, played way too deep and disappeared.
McAleny - 5; Busy and involved but no end product
Makienok - 5; Did his best with high balls pumped up toward him, but given no support for some strange reason
Jackson - 4.5; Rallied the players and crowd briefly, but ultimately we were well beaten by the time he came on.

Luzon - 1; Do we do scouting reports on oppo these days? Didn't have a clue what was going to come from a Grayson team.
Ref; 4; Allowed us to be bullied but can't really blame him.

    Sorry wrong thread
  • Probably going to look like a nutcase scoring it relatively normally...

Pope - 6 (didn't have him at fault for the goals, didn't drop anything, made one tidy save... don't agree that he placed the wall wrongly enough, or was out of position enough, to blame him for the free kick)
Solly 5.5 - (was ok, not having any options in front stifled him)
Sarr - 5 (first half 3/4, looked clueless - but second half was physical and made his headers/tackles... but he was further away so maybe I just couldn't see him letting everyone drift off him)
Diarra - 6 (was defending for 2 of them in the first half at least)
Fox - 4.5 (pretty dreadful tonight)
Bergdich - 4 (poor and anonymous)
Ba - 3.5 (some of those first touches were just staggeringly bad... did run a lot and make tackles, but mainly after he'd lost the ball)
Cousins - 4.5 (worst I've seen him play)
Holmes-Dennis - 6.5 (I thought he looked pretty good, actually)
Ahearne-Grant - 4 (didn't really offer anything on or off the ball, would hate to be playing up top with him)
Watt - 5 (ran at them a bit, made bad decisions)
McAleny - 5 (think he's crap but played ok compared to everyone else)
Makienok - 6 (did his hold up play fine, soon appeared to realise he'd be fighting for it on his own and became ineffective)
Jackson - 6 (too hopeless a situation to make any impact, played fine)

Actually pretty much agree with everything here
