First thing first, why on earth did the steward not notice the guy with the beer bottle seeing as we can not drink alcohol whilist sitting/standing near our seat. I am not making excuses for the guy because what he did was a disgrace but it just shows how clueless our stewards are.

Clueless because they didn't spot some muppet who had 'smuggled' a drink in and drunk it; thus flouting the laws that surround such? Behave yourself!!
PS: Dear Steward, please make sure that you insert all of your eyes before embarking upon your stewardly duties in order to stop muppets from smuggling a shandy in to their seat, the effects of which they can't handle after taking a minuscule sip!!!
Call me old fashioned but I blame the buffoonery behaviour of the muppet as opposed to the steward!!!

Have you not read my post properly mate? I said 'I am not making excuses for the guy because what he did was a disgrace'
As mentioned earlier its not just the responsibility of a steward earning minimum wage to prevent an idiot from throwing a bottle down into a crowd of his own supporters, its his own moral compass and those of his accompanying friends that is of course. Maybe its not wrong that his fellow supporters did not grass him for bringing a bottle in, but once he threw it.......
Yeah steward should have been more on the ball and I'm sure everyone would have stepped back and ushered said steward through and helped him remove the gentleman , with a bottle , whilst politely clapping and sending them on their merry way All for £7.30 an hour

You've had a while to study the photo and didn't notice that the bloke is drinking cider not beer. I reckon you should cut the steward some slack.
Is that a bloke drinking from a beer bottle or throwing a beer bottle ? Are there no images of him throwing it ?
Exactly, where is the evidence that he threw it? I hope the club have the CCTV of the bloke lobbing the bottle, cos all I see is a bloke having crafty swig.
It definitely come from the area where that bloke was standing.
I'm guessing here, but for the club to put that out then I reckon they have been given description, seat no of bloke who threw it, might not have cctv evidence of it being thrown, but do have evidence of him drinking bottle before hand.

Mick Everett has been doing his job for a long time, the club wouldn't just release a photo of the man just because he was having a swing of his cider, they only need to show you his face not him throwing a bottle to identify him
I'm confused. Back on page one of this thread 'Mart' says it was a 'plastic bottle still full'
The guy in the picture is drinking from a bottle. Are plastic bottles available in the ground (or indeed outside) If this was thrown it would be all but empty by the time it landed.
Before anyone decides to rip into me. I hope the CULPRIT is caught, not just a random beer smuggler.

And that is exactly where I am coming from, I hope they do have CCTV of him throwing it, if it was him, but I somehow doubt it
tbh the guy behaved like a grade a bellend so cant imagine the stewards would of got a pleasant reception from him, also its not that hard to take drinks in to a stand done it myself a few times at away grounds, but I can sit there like a normal human being and drink it without throwing it, still don't know why they do bottles at grounds as cups cannot be thrown can only think it must be cheaper for the clubs.

A lot of people (in the catering thread) say the club should sell more bottles, as they're far quicker to serve and can be done anywhere in the concourse, and not just where the kegs are...

This photo has been put up to IDENTIFY the person.
It seems likely to me that this is the clearest picture they have of the man's face hence why they used it.
That doesn't mean they don't have other film and/or pictures of him throwing a bottle.

Fully grown man throwing things onto their own (or anyone else for that matter). Some strange people about.
