Club Ambassador Keith Peacock at Bromley Addicks Q & A on 17th September

edited August 2015 in General Charlton
Just had a long chat with KP going over Saturday, tomorrow, etc etc. Said he'd spent a lot of time before and after the Hull game with Steve Bruce who was, of course, his first centre half and a great header of the ball. Comparisons made with Bauer.

Still very much involved and had a lot of insight into the players, Guy, etc so should be a great evening.

Plus still our record appearance holder for an outfield player

Younger supporters may not know a lot about Keith Peacock, but in my view he is easily one of the greatest ever Charltonians. The word legend is bandied about all too freely, but Keith is a complete and utter legend of the highest degree.

As well as being one of the nicest men you could ever meet! Always very welcoming and has so many stories from such a long association with Charlton.

Good to see Valley Express expanding to Bromley.
  • I think cafcdave123 beat you to that one : - )
  • I am going to ask a daft question? Is this place where Kent play their cricket games in Beckenham? If not how far is it from there?

  • Ignore that last comment. I have seen on the map. Where I drove to Kent Cricket Ground last time I just stay on that main road but don't turn right but keep going to a mini roundabout and turn left into Foxgrove Road.
  • Thanks Henry. It seems we both posted at the same time. I will be driving there next week. I can instead of going right at that mini roundabout I just need to go left. Thanks for that.... and Bump !!
  • See you there.
  • Looking forward to hearing from the Barnehurst Boy.
with the New Venue, it's either drive and Cranberry Juice,
Or Bus and Tram and a couple of Beers ?
    the latter is Favourite.

  • Sir, I'm hoping very much to get there on Thursday, but I'm a bit young to be out and about late in the evening (!) .... is there any chance that some kind soul will be driving back to Woolwich (or Charlton) and could give me a lift, do you think ? Any offers much appreciated - Private Godfrey
  • C'mon, who can give GHF a lift on Thursday?

Do you mean Keith or Soapbox Sam?
  • All 3 of you sir.
  • Ask him when the sequel to No Substitute is coming out…
  • Quite jealous of anyone there tonight. I'm not old enough to remember him play but the man is a true legend and one of the nicest men I've ever met.
