Pope - 6.5 - loses a mark for the horrendous fumble, but solid and reassuring apart from that.
Cousins - 7 did his job, back to centre mid though please. solid
Fox - 7 also solid, reminds me of gary neville the way he plays, improved a lot from last season it must be said
    Bauer - 7 unflustered
    Diarra - 7 composed
Gudmundsson - 7.5 didnt come off for him til right at the end
Ba - 8 him and kashi locked them out of the game, when he came off hull suddenly came alive
Kashi - 8.5 utter beast first half, then their game plan seemed to be "keep it away from kashi" what a player we have there
Bergdich - 7.5 harriott could learn a thing or two about his decision making and defensive abilities
Makienok - 9.5 just wow. Great goal and great assist. Not only that but he played centre half, centre forward and anchorman brilliantly
Ahearne-Grant - 7.5 made dawson and davies, two experienced centre halves shit themselves on a couple of occasions. He really is going to be a good player
Charles-Cook - 6 thrown in the deep end unfairly i thought in centre mid. Need a reserve right back for solly.

  • Pope - 7 - Had very little to do but claimed everything that came at him confidently. Spilled a hammer shot for their goal but shouldn't take the blame for the defence failing to protect him

Cousins - 6.5 - Looked confident and comfortable all game

Fox - 7 - Was happier with Bergdich in front of him but defended very strongly

Bauer - 7 - Superhuman. Had his doslocated finger popper in and defended brilliantly

Diarra - 7.5 - Was as good as Bauer defensively and brought the ball out brilliantly as well. Beat two players on a run at one point

Gudmundsson - 7 - Wasn't at his best but still ended up with an assist and a goal. Some dodgy shots that went flying over but can't argue with the results

Ba - 6.5 - Worked himself into the ground but wasn't hugely influential

Kashi - 6.5 - All running but started to let Hull build in his zone on the edge of the box towards the end and was guilty of being sucked towards the ball rather than protecting the space, leading to their goal

Bergdich - 6.5 - Terrified Hull with his pace in the first half but needed for end product

Makienok - 9 - Utterly terrific even without the game-winning contribution. Started slowly and was maybe trying too hard in the first half, but kept at it and once he got his goal everything went right for him. Started the move for his goal and set up the winner. Second half he won everything in front of their goal and in front of ours. Never slowed down and started playing more on the deck once he tired their defenders out. Incredible shift

Ahearne-Grant - 6 - Tried hard and ran well but made some very poor decisions shooting when he made a bit of space for himself and could have done better when Makienok gave him a chance

Charles-Cook - 6 - Tried hard but was a victim of Hull growing into the game

    Kashi 6.5. Good lord
He was very good but his positioning wasn't great when the pressure started coming in. He was getting drawn to the ball too much and it created pockets of space that Hull exploited, leading to their goal. Partly you could say that was down to him being the only experienced head in central midfield but by the standard we've already come to expect of him it wasn't his best showing. People love to blame the keeper but if Johann hadn't put in the winner we would have been punished by that lapse in concentration.

  • Pope - 5 - More confident in a lot of areas of his game, but that goal was another shocker in his catalogue.
Cousins - 7 - Assured as RB, a really versatile player clearly
Fox - 6.5 - Played well, can see he does all he can every game, he knows what he wants to do, he just doesn't manage to pull it off as much as he (or we) would like
    Bauer - 7.5 - Quality
    Diarra - 7.5 As above
Gudmundsson - 7 - Played very well, should have scored 2 though, but did well to get the second goal
    Ba - 7.5 Very impressed
Kashi - 7.5 - Also very impressed, never stopped
Bergdich - 6 - Very fast, not much else from him this game in my opinion, hopefully he will get there.
Makienok - 8.5 - Plays the kind of football I like to see, think he will be our key player this season.
    Ahearne-Grant - 6.5 - He was ok.
Charles-Cook - 5 - Seemed terrified of doing anything for the first period he was on, played better when he swapped with Cousins, hope he proves me wrong but my first impressions aren't great.

  • Pope - 6.5 minus 1 for spilling the ball for the goal
Cousins - 7 terrific shift filled in well
    Fox - 7.5 solid
Bauer - 7.5 excellent yet again
    Diarra - 7.5 terrific
Gudmundsson - 7.5 not at his best but a goal and an assist
Ba - 7.5 Good player, we looked considerably less comfortable when he came off
Kashi - 8.5 signing of the summer was everywhere
Bergdich - 6 didn't really settle but looks decent
Makienok - 9 MOM unbelievable player and it finally came off for him so pleased
Ahearne-Grant - 7 really good shift when he came nearly in a couple of times
Charles-Cook - 5 not ready for first team football felt sorry for him out of his depth
  • Pope 4 when is he going to stop spilling the ball?
    Cousins 7
    Fox 7
    Bauer 8.5
    Diarra 9
    Gudmundsson 8
    Ba 7
    Kashi 6
    Bergdich 5

  • Pope - 6.5 Claimed the ball in the air well today. After the Dagenham game I remember seeing a comment along the lines of 'Spill the ball like that in the championship and we'll get punished for it', and today we were punished. Just glad it didn't affect the result.
Cousins - 7.5 Solid at right back, his vision was very useful there today. Picked out some good passes and made some good runs forward
Fox - 7 Better from him today than I've seen before.
Bauer - 7.5 I feel reassured with him at the back
Diarra - 7.5 Same as Bauer, brilliant pairing
Gudmundsson - 7.5 Thought he could have shot more in the first half when instead he chose to pass. 98th minute goal though so can't complain.
Ba - 8 Game changed when he came off.
Kashi - 8 Outstanding yet again
Bergdich - 7 Really like him but think there's more to come.
Makienok - 9 Worked tirelessly. Irritated their defenders by challenging them and winning the ball on numerous occasions. The role suited him perfectly and he showed that with a goal and an assist, he was brilliant today.
Ahearne-Grant - 7 Worked hard but it didn't really come off for him. I think he'll be a good player in the future, hope we keep giving him minutes.
Charles-Cook - 6 Nowhere near as effective as Ba was

Pope 5.5 handling can't be relied on

Cousins 6.5 he should have swapped with RCC instantly
    Diarra 8
    Bauer 8
Fox 7.5 I am a critic but he defended excellently today. He looks better in games when he is not an attacking outlet

BG 7.5 plus 1 for the winner
BA 7.5- we struggled when he went off
Kashi 8.5 brilliant 1st half . He wasn't as good alongside a very naive RCC
    Bergdych 6.5 faded but tidy

Makienok 8 match winner and worked hard
KAG 7.5 learning all the time. A real threat against experienced centre backs

  • Pope - 5 Would have been 7 but he gave them the goal
Cousins - 7 Did a good solid job.
Fox - 7 Another good solid performance. I don't consider him a weak link any more.
    Bauer - 8 Beast
    Diarra - 8 Beast
Gudmundsson - 7.5 Should have scored one on one... I'll let him off.
Ba - 6.5 Looks a little clumsy at times but decent enough,
Kashi - 7.5 The man's everywhere. Comfortable on the ball and keeps things ticking nicely.
    Bergdich - 6.5 Put in a shift.
Makienok - 8 A right pain all day for the defenders. Perfectly timed run and jump for the goal and an assist to.
Ahearne-Grant - 7 His best game in a Charlton shirt. Very impressed with his performance. Should have scored but he is good enough to play a part this season.
Charles-Cook - 5.5 Out of his depth. Hull were all over us while he was in midfield. As soon as we swapped him for Cousins we looked more solid again.

  • Pope - 5.5 looked fine all game but that fumble really was a howler, sadly it is kind of becoming his trademark.
Cousins - 6.5 have possession away a lot in first half but improved second half, solid defensively and overlapped gudmundsson well.
Fox - 6.5 did fine defensively, didn't offer much going forward.
Bauer - 7.5 class again from big pat, even played on with dislocated finger.. Warrior.
Diarra - 8 win everything in the air and brought the ball out well from the back, captains performance.
Gudmundsson - 8.5 out of the game for large periods but the bloke is quite clearly the best creative midfielder in the league, the ball for his assist was class and took his header well.
Ba - 7.5 worked hard all game, tidy on the ball, we looked far less comfortable when he went off.
Kashi - 8 this guy is fast becoming my fave player, unbelievable work rate, he is everywhere, wins everything and keeps play ticking over all game as well as an eye for a killer ball.
Bergdich - 5.5 didn't impress me today, worked hard but hasn't got the skill or composure to be a winger, could be a decent full back.
Makienok - 9 average first hard but worked hard, second half he was mustard, won everything, chased everything, scored a great header and showed lovely vision to pick out Johan for the winner.. Magic stuff.
Ahearne-Grant - 7 looked lively and good on the ball, a few wild efforts on goal though but seems to be progressing as a player.
Charles-Cook - 5.5 shouldn't have been thrown in at CM.

Pope - 7 excellent apart from the fumble but he was left exposed at that point
Cousins - 7 Hard working as usual
Fox - 7.5 gets better every time I watch him
Bauer - 8 Possibly the best buy for a few years - real class
Diarra - 8 Strong and assured
Gudmundsson - 8 quality from him
    Ba - 7.5 strong performance
Kashi - 8 Really put in a shift
Bergdich - 7 Over played on occasions but worked hard
Makienok - 8.5 Got better as the game went on - looks a great signing

  • Watched online, first time I've seen us this season.

Pope - 6 - Was solid enough when called upon until he spilled the ball their goal, glad it didn't cost us the 3 points for his sake.
Cousins - 7 - Out of position but solid against a good attacking wing-back in Robertson.
    Fox - 7 - Solid, looks confident.
Bauer - 7.5 - Impressive, very solid in the air and on the ground.
Diarra - 8.5 - Beast. A step ahead of their forwards and not half bad going forwards with the ball either.
Gudmundsson - 7 - Good save from McGregor to deny him but should really have buried it, glad he got his goal to make up for it.
Ba - 7.5 - Real noticeable difference after he went off.
Kashi - 8.5 - Incredible especially in first half, was absolutely everywhere breaking up play and passing the ball. Really impressed.
Bergdich - 6.5 - Good turn of pace and skill, caused Odubajo problems, but faded a bit. Lots of potential.
Makienok - 9.5 MOM - Outstanding, won almost everything in the air both in attack and defense, brilliant flick-ons, took his goal and assist well and set up a few good chances. Tracked back well and very good with the ball at his feet. Defenders must hate to play against him.
Ahearne-Grant - 6.5 - Confident and hardworking but should maybe have done better with a couple of chances, showed great promise though.
Charles-Cook - 6 - Think this game came a bit too soon for him, struggled against their midfield. Better when switched with Cousins towards the end.
  • Pope - 6.5 half a point knocked off for spilling it AGAIN and this time it was punished
Cousins - 6 worked pretty hard but is no longer a full back, kept getting sucked in too narrow and underhit a few passes
Fox - 6.5 looked off the pace really, may have struggled in the heat, needs to put in more crosses when he has the space
Bauer - 7.5 proper rock in defence, will score from a corner soon
Diarra - 8 commanding, assured, a leader on the pitch and has a proper presence
Gudmundsson - 7.5 Disappointing in the middle in the opening half an hour, kept getting in the way, but once moved to his more familiar position he posed a threat. Great assist and fantastic winner
Ba - 7.5 bossed the game in the middle, missed once he went off injured
Kashi - 7.5 he's here, he's there, he's every fucking where, Kashi, Kashi!
Bergdich - 7 lively on the left in the first half, seemed to tire in the second
Makienok - 8 MOM wasn't clicking for him in the first half, but he didn't stop trying and came out in the second half and showed us what he's all about. Gets in the thick of the action, flicking it on or holding it up, harassing defenders, clearing defensive corners and playing in teammates
Ahearne-Grant - 7 worked hard, dangerous when running at defenders and coming wide to pick up the ball in the channels.
Charles-Cook 6.5 struggled to get a foothold in the game and weirdly looked better at right back once moved there, but he's young and will grow in leaps and bounds this season
  • Pope 7
    Cousins 6.5

Pope - 7 - Very unlucky with the fumble, did his job when called upon though
Cousins - 7 - Not his most effective position but did an alright job, should have been playing CM instead of Charles-Cook before it went tits up
Fox - 7.5 - Getting better and better all the time, I'm growing fond of him!
Bauer - 8.5 - Solid, put his body (and fingers) on the line
    Diarra - 8.5 - Beast, I love Alou.
Gudmundsson - 7 - Forgot he was playing for a lot of the game, missed a golden chance, but he popped up in the end and proved his quality!
Ba - 7.5 - You could really notice when he went off injured, good game, will only get better and better!
Kashi - 8.5 - Incredible work rate, great tackling, strength, positioning, not bad on the ball either! Could easily become a fan favourite
Bergdich - 6 - Lost the ball a lot, wasn't that impressed but still put in a shift
Makienok - 9.5 - Outstanding! Runs his socks off too which is rare for such a tall striker! So much passion too, he wants to wear the shirt you can tell!
Ahearne-Grant - 7.5 - Seemed nervous but I was impressed with his instinct of finding space, could tell he was knackered but he kept going and going
Charles-Cook - 6 - Should have been put on as a right-back and not to play in midfield!

  • Pope - 7
    Cousins - 7
    Fox - 7
    Bauer - 7.5
    Diarra - 8
    Gudmundsson - 8
    Ba - 8
    Kashi - 7
    Bergdich - 7.5
    Makienok - 8
    Ahearne-Grant - 7
    Charles-Cook - 6

  • Pope - 7 done well. Caught well and distributed well. Unlucky for the goal they scored. It was poor defending and he got clattered. His only mistake all game. Glad that we still got the 3 points.
Cousins - 7 out of position and was frustrated in the first half but still played well.
    Fox - 7.5 solid
    Bauer - 7.5 solid!
    Diarra - solid
Gudmundsson - 8.5 looked dangerous behind the striker. Nice cross for our first and got a goal!!
Ba - 8 good tackling and good passing. Tired late on and I'm hoping that was just cramp.
Kashi - 8 spread the ball very well. Tackled very well and didn't tire. He's a smart player
Bergdich - 7 their Arab couldn't handle him in the first half but his decision making wasn't great. Still played well mind you and was harshly booked.
Makienok - 9.5 first half he was trying hard. His flick one weren't working well and I said to my brother 'he needs a goal'. He got his goal and everything worked. Was brilliant in defence and attack and set up the winner too. You could also see how much it meant to him! Pleased for him.
Ahearne-Grant - 7.5 done well off the ball. Closed down well but his inexperience showed when he had a couple of goal scoring opportunities. Thought he played well against a hard Hull team.
Charles-Cook - 6.5 wasn't bad but they grew into the game as he came on. Good experience for him.

Ceballos n/a hope it's nothing serious
Harriott n/a we needed to bring him on and he played well. Doesn't have a right foot though.

Luzon was brilliant! The passion he showed! Class.

    The fans were brilliant too.
