Pissing hell, Harriott showed disrespect to his club by allowing his child to wear a shirt that some genuine human adults got upset by? Actual, honest to god adults are wetting themselves months after the season ended because a little boy wore an Arsenal shirt on our hallowed pitch. These adults still aren't over it. You do understand Arsenal have played at The Valley before right? There's been Arsenal shirts on it before and the blokes wearing those were much more offensive than Callum's little boy. We survived. If you've genuinely been negatively affected by the clothes a human child has been dressed in then it's time to jack it all in and go and live in a cave off the Isle of Man. Society is not for you.
I couldn't give a flying f**k what shirt Harriott Jnr wears or who dressed him in it. I wish that was the most important thing for me to get my knickers in a twist about.
Also, the Arsenal shirt thing, imagine the scene.:
Harriott gets up that morning and says to his son - "Get dressed kiddo, you're coming to the Valley with me today cos it's the last game of the season and I want to show you off to all my mates and the crowd. What do you want to wear?"
Son says "Can I wear my Arsenal shirt Daddy?"
Harriott: "I dunno if that's a good idea son."
Son says: "Oh please Daddy, their my favourite team and we're going to a football match. Why can't I wear it?"
Harriott: "Well I guess it'll probably be alright, I can't see why anyone would get offended by what a 3 year old is wearing. Go get it out of your Wardrobe."
What a terrible human being it makes Harriott - wanting to keep his kid happy and not explaining that a group of fully grown men, probably with jobs and kids of their own, will want to hound him out of the club he grew up in all because of his kids choice of outfit to wear to a happy family event.
He's a bright lad for 15 months old, his command of English and emotional reasoning is spot on.
To be fair, 10 years ago i would have likely been annoyed with a Charlton player putting his kid in a shirt of another club at the Valley but then i stopped being a teenager and grew up.
It's not like Arsenal are a local rival, well not since they fled to north London a hundred years ago anyway. ;-)
I can understand the sentiment with the kit but I just can't see how it can cause that much angst and I nearly agree with the shit winger bit, I feel let down by callum as Imo he has it all except upstairs in the mental strength part of what's required,
The kid is not 3 years old, he was only 14/15 months old, do you actually think at that age he would be telling his dad through his dummy what he wants to wear! I don't think so mate!
Without a doubt it was Daddy's decision!!
No respect for the people who pay him and none for the fans who pay to watch him!

A very arrogant post because I have a different opinion to you!
If you or anyone else find it acceptable, I have absolutely no problem with that, it's all about opinions. I personally do not want to see a player of my club, whose wages I help to pay, shoving a Gooner shirt in my face when I have taken the trouble to stay behind and applaud the players that have represented my team for the season!
I knew I would be in for pelters, but having seen Leeds Addick getting the usual reaction from many on here because he has a different opinion to others, I thought I would come on and support him, but of course society is not for me!
I'm just glad that I have the rationale to not get upset over a toddler wearing an other teams shirt during a lap of honour regardless who dressed the lad. If something so trivial automatically makes you dislike the player then you need to take a good long hard look at yourself. Stop digging out our own players. It's a nasty trait that has become far to frequent in recent years at our club.
I don't think putting his kid in an Arse shirt was disrespectful. A bit dumb maybe, but not disrespectful.
Callum wouldn't have done it to wind anyone up, but it wasn't the greatest idea, you know what football fans are like.
Callum himself is a lovely guy and is great with the kids. He always puts in an effort (unlike some) and the kids parties and is always happy to hang about outside the west stand and have his picture taken.
I hope he moves on so he can kick-start his career. I for one would wish him all the best if he decides a move would benefit him.
I don't think he is being a muppet, he is simply of a different opinion to some on here.
I wouldn't want to see other teams shirts in the crowd from paying customers so is it really that outrageous for some people to be disappointed to see OUR PLAYERS bringing their kids out on the pitch wearing other teams colours?
You're just being a muppet mate that's why everyone is pelting you
Another arrogant post, who are you to call me a muppet.
This is turning into a very typical CL witch hunt thread where anyone with a different view is pounced on.
Have I abused anyone on here whilst expressing my opinion?
What gives you or your pal above Garrymanilow the right to reply in the way you have?
Witch hunt? Grow up. You posted your opinion. I disagreed with your opinion. You threw a wobbly. The thing about opinions is you get to have one and people get to disagree with them, that's how forums work. If you want to say whatever you want and have no-one disagree with you then just shout out of your window once the neighbours fall asleep. I'm really sorry that the attire of a child offended you. Honestly, I really am.

You are apparently genuinely offended by a piece of clothing worn by a child less than two years old. You ARE a muppet. And not one of the good ones like Kermit, more like that ridiculous prawn one.
Didn't know that he dressed and paraded his young boy in an Arsenal shirt at The Valley.
For that he shouldn't be sold - he should be kept in a hole and given only bread and water. And if he plays up any more he should be given a harsh punishment.
Why the need to insult, I disagree with Al I ain't never met him to my knowledge but didn't feel the need to get into a pissy argument over it,
Also Al I wouldn't say this is a typical CL thread where it gets personal and insulting it's a better forum than that and you are wrong there it's far from typical that it happens infact it's the opposite Imo

Questioning Harriot's character and personality on the basis that his infant son once wore an Arsenal shirt, clearly therefore making Harriot senior some disruptive trouble maker with no respect for the club he's been at since his own childhood is pretty personal, and definitely insulting. By all means debate his actual ability and whether he and the club should part ways for mutual benefit but disparaging his character over an absolute non-event? You deserve all the stick you get, frankly.
90 new comments. Have Wigan put in a new bid?! Has another club bid?! Has he stated he's gonna fight for the shirt?! No its that bollox about his son wearing an Arsenal shirt.
I really don't see that wearing another team's shirt whilst doing a 'lap of honour' is anything to be taken lightly. I think it is an insult to the fans. Whether it be the player himself or his little boy is irrelevant.
I was joking about my punishment above of course, but in all seriousness I do not think that wearing another team's shirt is acceptable. I do see Arsenal as a rival and one of the clubs I dislike the most. What if a player (or any relative of his) did a lap of honour in a Palace, Millwall, or West Ham shirt? Would this be any worse? At what point would you think such behaviour unacceptable? What would Harriot himself have thought if Sol Campbell for example had done the same in a Spurs shirt?

Totally out of order parading his son (who is clearly too young to have chosen his attire) round The Valley in an arsenal shirt.

But I'd like him to stay and do well with us
Is that ok with the nutters in this thread?
