Give it a rest now with the whole Gomez thing the boy wants to play in the premier league and we need the money to invest in New players . All you people moaning about rd and him selling our young players need to remember before he come we was in financial ruin and the youth team was a mess he has come in and invested a huge amount in both the team and youth team and for that we are seeing kids like Gomez come through .One thing we don't know and Weird someone is trying to compare joe Gomez to sol Campbell the boy has not played one game of premiership football he will struggle to get in Liverpools team but it's what he wants so why shouldn't rd sell him.
That was me, and I was comparing the two from seeing them as 17 year olds, not Joe Gomez now compared to Sol Campbell's whole career.
how many times did u go and watch sol at17 Ibet none .
I saw him play about four times, including whilst officiating (linesman, as it was called in those days) in a pre season youth friendly at Sparrows Lane. I know there are others who always go to the youth games, and have done for years who would also have opinions regarding young players, and more informed opinions than me. However the very first time I saw Campbell he played in a free roving role, looked like a young god in those days, and was so impressive I asked the Spurs coach who he was and the guy actually said 'Sulzeer Campbell', 'Sol' wasn't his commonly called name back then, when I saw him I thought he could play anywhere, however he was at that time head and shoulders better than the other players in his age group. I also felt similarly when I saw Richard Rufus, however he was always a central defender, and now I have also seen Joe Gomez and I would place him as equivalent to what those two were like at the same age. How much was the bet?
Strange I thought we didn't need to worry and couldnt sign until the 1st July. Pringle would have been a good signing for us. I'm sure there's better in the pipeline though.
Fulham have signed Ben Pringle and Andy Lonergan on free transfers.
Pringle was the one Cawley said we'd been keen on
Think everyone in the Championship is keen on him, on a free that's some shrewd business from Fulham - and their wage bill will be able to fit him. Very consistent.

Just saw on wikipedia 1 solitary league goal. Has to be one of the worst in a very dark period for our club
Disappointed about Gomez as it looks like I won't get to see him play for us, wasn't able to attend any games last year and he wasn't in the team during that little spate of televised games we had early doors. Was hoping he'd be around at least until I fly home for a few weeks in September. The price seems fair to me though, especially if we insert a good sell on percentage. He looks the real deal but there's still plenty of time for his career to go backwards so it's unrealistic to expect Liverpool to pay much more imo.
Hope there is truth in the idea Cousins will sign an extension. Lots of potential in that boy, but he is most definitely better served getting playing time in SE7 imo, being that bit older than Gomez, he needs games and lots of them. A stint a premier league subs bench right now could ruin the rest of his career.
Nice to see a few proper rumours doing the rounds now - signs the club is going to reinvest the Gomez money or just the rumour mill turning its attention to us because it knows we have money coming in?
Sat down with Marko Dmitrovic yesterday. He spoke well of @ Gudmundsson7 and does not want to lose him from Charlton.

I hope he will stay with Charlton because he is one of our best men, but to be honest he has the quality needed to play in the Premier League. I would not be surprised if the team it was with an eye on him, "said Dmitrovic.

The best thing is it was an absolutely pointless corker in a televised match where we lost 4-2 to Swindon after being taken apart by Charlie Austin in what was Parky's last game. Even Abbott's best moment(s) are miserable memories

perhaps KM & RD are under the same assumption as some on here that you cant sign anyone until July 1st...........
Yep to give competition to Russell, Bent, Weimann (sp?) and the Irish bloke they have just signed. Probably missed a few as well, yet another pile of crap.

This is good news, with him, Gomez, JBG and Cousins sold we should break even this season and we still have Henderson, Solly, Watt and errr, others who are transfermarket.com £2m players showing our squad is better than last season and we are pushing onwards.

Agreed. Thought I'd share it nonetheless.
It will probably go through now before the Gomez move

Always amusing to see a grizzled old-timer give a cocky young upstart a slap!
Even if only metaphorically.
