Agreeing a maintenance contract from now until November 2027 valued at £1.1 million a year, been really hard work but we got there.6

If you call owning a 3 (ok 21/2) bedroom terraced house in east Dartford Massive then yes 😀, all the profits are reinvested back into the company which is ultimately our pension fund for when we sell the company (hopefully this year / next to a large billion dollar multi national company) then yes I might have a massive house after that, but at 68 /69 who wants or needs one. We will probably end up staying where we have lived happily for the last 45 years. In the end we probably won’t benefit that much, yes we will undoubtedly have some lovely holidays, perhaps a holiday home, more importantly we will both spend time together something we have never done in 43 years of married life, and an added bonus of no stress as money will not be a problem (although keeping it safe will be) but the real beneficiaries will be our kids, hopefully they won’t need to work the hours I had to and suffer the stress of managing a large business, let alone the ultimate stress of all entrepreneurs the thought that one mistake and your house has gone, we have been lucky, we had bad times and survived by the skin of our teeth, no help from the caring banks (crooks) now is the time to get out, the fun gone, all my old mates have retired most have died, the industry is now run by financial idiots who only look at the bottom line, no evaluation of design, just costs.Algarveaddick said:

Bugger - my sense of humor again. I was joking that maintaining your house was costing you £1.1 million a year CK... Sorry for any accidental offence caused. 🤭1

This trying to be amusing in written form doesn’t work for me, in my reply which I tried to make amusing as I understood yours to be, but I failed totally. No matter, unfortunately after that I got a bit carried away, so my apologises, reading it back it now sounds a bit big headed which it wasn’t meant to be, just that I’m happy for obvious reasons.Algarveaddick said:Bugger - my sense of humor again. As we know some members of staff have been liaising with OB for ages!
