There was a news item on last week from the Channel Island Sark about the need for a cattle farmer to move there.
My eagle eyed son noticed a gold pillar box in the backround and said Sark must have had an Olympic Gold medal winner in 2012. He was right as well. Betya can't name the Olympian? Suffice to say, an incredibly hard quiz question imo.
n.b. Sark apparently have no plans to repaint the pillar box back to the original blue ... I think they need a pillar box painter as well.
Cleaning out my late great uncle's place, there's a tarpaulin on the ground in the side alley, went to move it and a bird (turns out to be a robin) flies out. Had a look under and there's a nest with about half a dozen eggs in. Went back a couple of weeks later expecting foxes to have destroyed the nest but the chicks have all hatched. Photo isn't great as didn't want to disturb them too much, but you don't expect to get this close to a nest. Made my day, hopefully they'll still be doing well next time I go over.
Back on the bike after next week after injury and illness, with just six weeks to go before Football2Amsterdam the Doctor gave me the go ahead to start riding again.

Talking of robins, this brave fellow got so close to me yesterday that I had to take a step back so that the camera would focus!
Bought a climbing rose last October. This is the first bloom on what looks like a very vigorous plant, measures 5 inches across (the bloom not the plant)
'Please' is probably too strong a word, but the conversation below amused me.
Me: Benny, my postal vote hasn't turned up for tomorrow. Would you be my proxy if I can get the council to agree to it? Son: Sure, who do you want me to vote for? Me: You can decide.Exercise your judgement, just don't vote for any of the ones I moan about. Son: Well I might as well not bother then!
