My besties husband was on MC a few years ago & when I asked him what it was like his immediate reaction was to tell me Greg was an absolute tw@t. He had a pair of trainers on that were limited edition, something to do with The Who & Greg said, ‘there nice trainers’ to which my mates hubby replied, ‘thanks, they’re blah blah blah’. Wallace immediately got them to stop filming & then when it started again, Greg kicks off with, ‘they’re nice trainers……are they limited edition blah blah blah?’Apparently the whole thing is pretty fake, lots of cold food eaten etc etc.
I still watch the Professional one though 🤣🤣3 -
Wasn’t he a greengrocer at one time? Probably arranged his apples and bananas displays artfully4

I guess complimenting a woman for her plump buns on baking week was a no no then?!6

I've been enjoying Marcus' and Monica's skill tests in the Professionals.3 -
I think where you draw the line in the last 20 years is different to where you drew the line before that. There's a reason for it and you either live with that change or risk ruining your career.
In 2035, this conversation will revolve around a new line...
I have also heard Wallace is a twat and that at an event attended by people I know, Torode has had to distance himself from him (sniff sniff).
Today, if you tell a junior member of staff that you aren't wearing boxers, then that is abuse of power, because you only say it for one reason (it's rarely "banter").
If you are going to tell rude jokes - know your audience.
Is he a nonce? Probably not. Is he is dickhead? Yes.

Perhaps someone higher up got sick of Greg, now suddenly everything about him is bad, when before he got away with it1 -
He's Millwall and always been a bit nonce-y.
When he started on MasterChef he knew fuck all about cooking and just used to shout "laaaaaverrrlllleeee" after every dessert. Nearly 20 years later and he's exactly the same1 -

You shouldn't kick a man when he is down but, well, sometimes they deserve it...

Honestly have felt like the main series of MasterChef has been in need of a freshen up in terms of judging for a while now. Still really enjoy the Professionals with Marcus Waring and Monica but the amateur one has felt a bit stale with the same judges for 20 years or however long it is.

I watched an episode recently and a female contestant starting laughing at a comment he made because it sounded like an inuendo and he didnt even raise a smile. He must have known this was coming.0

The BBC is a sterile corporation. It's a tragedy that we're forced to pay the licence fee.
I've worked with Gregg and yes he's a twat and bit of a dinosaur. However, he's got character and is generally harmless.
Kirsty Wark from Newsnight says, "there were two occasions in particular where he used sexualised language" and" I think people were uncomfortable".
If you're going to make the statement, tell the full story. What did he say and who felt uncomfortable. Let people decide for themselves.
Kirsty Wark is married to someone who is rather snide and a bit of a clown, so dealing with Gregg Wallace should be a breeze.3 -

Keep an eye out for the final rounds of this Professional series.
They end up in our local 2 star restaurant here in Baltimore.
The Turkish chef Ahmet stayed with us during lockdown. He fed homemade pasta to our goats lol. An absolute gem of a man.8 -
Auntie Beeebee has decided that Masterchef/Wallace is SOOOOO very important to us all that it is now the headline, first mentioned item on its radio news clips .. f f s navel gazing at its best0

The Oz one is absolutely mental, feels like they trap them in that warehouse for about 3 months

As a teenager, it was my dream to work for the BBC and that was shatteted.
Working in and around the industry, you quickly figure out who is what and why things happen.
The BBC is a hostile and stagnated place. There's a reason they use the same portfolio of talent over and over again.

The most offensive thing I found about him was when he used to taste the food he would then make loud chewing sounds and slurps whilst staring straight at the contestant in the eyes before saying something along the lines of "luvly" or "tasty" or "cor that's a bit of me" or "I would smash the living daylights out of that souffle any day of the week"0
