I salute every fan who made the journey and admit to a slight feeling of guilt this morning as I couldn't muster the desire to attend despite Middlesbrough being a close game for me.
It's quite obvious that we're in a relegation fight and some would say our survival is more in the hands of other teams and their results due to our own frailties. The question is, if we do survive because it transpires there really is three teams worse than us, what then? Uncle Roly isn't going to suddenly change tact and start throwing money at strengthening the team to make a concerted effort to succed so next season would be more of the depressing same wouldn't it?
The club seriously needs to consider getting a defensive coach in. Too many goals conceded from set pieces. Give George Graham a call - I'm only half joking with that one.
So Luzon disappeared straight down the tunnel and didn't acknowledge the fans? When you consider that it is the same set of fans who have been giving him pelters on Social Media, forums and an hour into his home "debut" were hurling insults en masse, you can sort of see where he is coming from.
For what its worth, I think he should be acknowledging supporters, but can sort of understand why he didn't.
If there is anyone who is still looking up the league table rather than down, please have a look at the form table. Absolutely shocking (unless you've actually watched us play, in which case the only shock is that we've picked up three points in the last six games):

No excuse, you always acknowledge the fans.
Peeters loved celebrating when we won, went hiding after some defeats. You take the good and the bad together, if you are not happy to take the blame when things are not going well, you should not get the credit when thing are going well.

Thing is though, if he had any sense he'd see an opportunity to show the fans that he's not just there as Roland's puppet and that he's a man the fans can get behind. If he went over to acknowledge the travelling support he might have got an earful at the time but you can bet he'd be getting a lot of positive comments on here. Odd that he didn't take the chance to make his own life a bit easier in the future
I wasn't there but for those supporters who where the least the players and alleged manager can do is acknowledge them. Bastards. What the phuck has happened to my club!
I feel we should chant Chris solly or Johnie Jackson red and white army as was proved at Watford, they were the ones who got some of the players to acknowledge the fans despite a minority telling them to fucx off.
As I said on another thread, respect has to be earned, and he should give the fans the respect they deserved just for being there, let alone their support! Plus, it's not the right way to win anyone over if you just ignore them. Obviously he works the same way as his boss, just ignore them and they'll put up with it.

I see where you're coming from BUT this is Luzon's job, he is paid to do it, us fans (not me in this season very often, I'll be honest) are PAYING to watch it. Even if he doesn't mean it, it takes NO effort to walk 20 steps and give the fans a clap, even if he has to swallow his pride and do it and receive boo's. He needs to take a leaf from Bob's and Jose's book, try get the fan's on side and go from there. This makes him look like an ungrateful tool..
Fans would not follow a team if they got no respect back from the players and management team, on and off (post match and pre match acknowledgement) the pitch. There is no positive to take from him being a prick and treating us like we are non existant.
We were outclassed by a side that is running hot and showing no sign of cooling down. There were some encouraging signs though: Decent goalkeeping performance, Watt put himself about as did Cousins. G'sson, Solly as always. Ben Haim, in fact all the players had a go, but we lack that bit of quality, that bit of cohesion, organisation and continuity. Pity about the first goal. A new look defence was disorganised at an early corner and the excellent Bamford had time to blow his nose and check his fingernails before heading home, it was a really good header though. But all in all we need to get out of this rut before it becomes a relegation grave. A start would be to pick the same side for a few games and stick with it

Should have got him in when Curbishley left. And I'm not joking at all with that one.
Wigan get Tom Ince. We get Lepoint. Rather illustrates our plight.
As does the situation post first goal, when no less than eight players are staring at each other and not actually knowing who to blame. If it's zonal marking it's probably Oneywu but if it's "man to man" it's Church.
For the second Oneywu shows the composure of a Sunday League player and the third results from no one picking up the man on the edge of the box. JJ is seen to berate whoever is up top but surely someone could have spotted the fact that all nine of our defenders are actually defending the penalty box and nothing else. We actually had two extra defenders!
And that's what I mean about the "leadership" mentioned previously. Some are natural born leaders and others aren't. For whatever reason we just don't have enough of them at the moment.
I must admit I have not been impressed with Luzon at the press conferences. To me he comes over as arrogant with a low opinion of the journalists. Its just a feeling I am getting. If true, and what he did yesterday with the fans is indicative of this, then his appointment does not auger well. At least BP appeared to have some empathy with the fans.

As tempting as that is, it'd probably mean they were out of the door before you know it, in order to show us who's boss.
Re Luzon walking off ... I once wrote to Charlton after a dire 0-1 League Cup loss to Bury at Upton Park when the players trooped off without any acknowledgment to a chorus of booing (there were 1800 of us there). I got by return a lengthy personal reply from Simon Webster apologising for the team's behaviour ... can't imagine that happening these days
, in fact all the players had a go, but we lack that bit of quality, that bit of cohesion, organisation and continuity.
This. Although I wasn't there yesterday, this "the players aren't trying stuff" seems to be gathering a lot of pace but I disagree with it and don't doubt the effort but the three traits mentioned above are seriously lacking. Basics such as defending set pieces are sorted on the training ground-if we deal with those corners yesterday, we potentially nick a point.
Unfortunately (and more importantly) another thing which is missing is confidence and whilst that's the case, it's hard to see where our next points are coming from. Probably via a 0-0 at Wigan in a couple of weeks....

Very fearful for this season.....
I've been saying all along its about lack of confidence not effort. That is so plain to see and far far more plausible. In professional sport, if you dont try you will, without doubt, get smashed out of sight by the opposition. This happened at Watford but whether that was lack of effort or just ''one of those games' no one knows. 5-0 is not that rare a scoreline TBH but would be similar for us every week if we didnt show effort
Agree with taxi lad, it more lack of pace than lack of effort which is our undoing. we now have 4 midfielders with no pace, JJ, Buyens, lepoint and milos. You can't get away with that now in the championship.
We scored a goal which I didn't expect. Other than that I dont think this was one of the games we were getting something from.
Disappointing to hear that the players didn't come over to the fans after making all that effort, but I suppose there isn't really much of that kind of behavior left in the club. All out for themselves, from owner to aging centre back. Shame.
Not really sure what to do from here with what we've got.
