I think a lot of you are doing Katrien a terrible disservice.
She is a very intelligent lady that has a sense of humour.
If she were to read this site (and the threads about her in particular) then I'm sure she's bright enough to work out that most posters are decent, respectful people and the odd joke here and there is just a bit of harmless fun.
Yes, there are a couple that go over the top, but they are an attempt (not a good attempt by the way) at humour, not to be derogatory to Katrien.
I'm sure if she does read them she has a little chuckle to herself.
Maybe I'm wrong as I don't know her personally, but I'd like to think that someone who has achieved so much at a young age is clever enough not to generalise and to take the odd joke here and there on the chin.
It was just her English that made it sound like that, as the next sentence went on to say that her grandfather and mother took her to football. (As a little girl).
She took over a year ago giving up a job in a law firm. There was a bit more than described above and some great shots of the Valley.
Read somewhere she worked for Baker and Mckenzie, they are based on New Bridge Street, just up from Blackfriers station.
Yeah, but she was in their Brussels office I think. But I believe she spent some time here with Freshflields as a trainee.
Anyway, not really a very illuminating interview in my opinion.

You'd hope so if it was nothing more than "the odd joke here and there" but rereading this thread, I think it's bit more than that. And it happens every single time a thread pops up about her. I know I'm sick of it by now, I can only imagine how the subject of these comments (KM) feels about it.

I feel for both you and Katrien, Callum. I apologise whole heartedly and will reserve such off colour comments for the "Would'Ya", "Whose Rack" and any other thread that it would be appropriate to contribute this sort of content to. Sorry again and please all of you that have been so terribly offended, have a very happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.

actually they've probably got to go as well as we keep getting hassled by Google :-(

I don't know, I try to be as balanced and realistic as possible. Sometimes I'll even contribute to those sorts of threads myself. But all these Katrien comments every time she's mentioned on here sit differently with me, they make me feel a touch more uncomfortable.

I'm with Brendan on this topic. Having just had a couple of chats with Katrien of a few minutes each, She came across us intelligent with a great sense of humour. some on here will cross the line(been close myself on occasions) as a straight man i find her attractive, but the most important thing is that she's good at her job. she has a remit from Roland which she has to abide by. KM may be the CEO but Roland is still the Owner who calls the shots.
Some of you lot are so soppy it's unbelievable. This is an internet forum for football fans, a demographic not famed for their intelligence. If you're expecting every comment to be straight and narrow then log on to the labour party forum.
Eh.. it doesn't really matter where we are, it shouldn't happen. You can't get away from the fact that it does happen and I'm not going to fake outrage because I'll get it in the neck from some on here but I know those comments are not right.
I'm deliberately trying not to come across as extreme, I find football forums often have the habit of making your views sound more extreme than they are.
Is this a case of some people being offended on Katrien's behalf even though she may just laugh it off?
No. It's more a case of a lot of posters getting fed up with whatever she has to say being secondary to a few posters purile need to draw attention to the fact she is a woman.
She may sit at home laughing at the schoolboy level comments of a few of us and writing them off as the, sadly inevitable, attention she gets from working in a traditionally male environment. Equally she may sit in her office annoyed that she is unable to get her message across without some hairy arsed bloke cracking a joke about cracking one off and wondering why she even bothers trying to engage with fans through the media.
Why don't we just try knocking the Bernard Manning material on the head and then maybe, you never know, she might even join us here on the biggest forum for her businesses "customers"?

There's no outrage worse than phony outrage.
Sounds like it's you who's outraged.
I can't tell if it is mock or not though.
But it is another lazy troupe to add to "pc gone mad" and "being offended on someone else's behalf".
All a bit meaningless now due to constant overuse to deflect any valid point without the user having to engage in real debate.

Happy Christmas.
Well said. Those posts are so lazy and, as you say, now meaningless. It's a shortcut borne through a lack of a decent argument, or at least the effort to make one.
I remember back in the old email circle days, when we had an argument about swearing at football matches. I was saying "It's football, what do you expect!? Of course we're gonna say the F and C words!" until someone calmly pointed out the variety of reasons why I was potentially upsetting people around me. I realised, the argument that "it's football/ it's a forum, what do you expect?" doesn't cut it; football is not an excuse for being a total asshole.

They just need to sort this club out and make it successful.
