We ARE an average team, we just happen to have a solid defence and a striker in lethal form. The midfield is generally efficient enough but not inspired, keep chugging away and hope Igor scores. That is not a bad plan, it has worked very well, but it's not exactly a master stroke of tactics.
Amazes me how many times we've been accused of being lucky or just an average team after beating the opposition. Probably the most defensively sound team in the league and surely one of the most clinical when Igor is playing.
We were told this by fans of other teams every week in our record breaking League One campaign too. Hopefully come May this average team will be in a similarly "average" position...!
Got as far as ; 'Charlton were not impressive, I felt they were lightweight up front and I never really saw them causing us too many problems'
Igor has to be one of the most clinical strikers in this league, his goal record thus far wouldn't suggest that we are lightweight upfront. Sour grapes indeed.

If we just put away that 2nd goal, hopefully people would start to realise that we are more than just lucky.

I think it's been forever thus.
I seem to remember reading in the Jimmy Seed Story that it was widely perceived that finishing runners up in the old first division flattered us because of all the tight 1-0 wins we had.
Our manage went on a rant moaning about Ipswich and their tactics as well - because they played some "long ball" football which given our success using such a style of play was a bit ironic TBH!
With all the PR training that these clubs get you'd think they might think against motivating the opposition so much.
I am sure Reading have gone away from home and used the same sort of tactics as implied - just not as well.

Agreed. At the time if we lose, I might think, yeah we should've beaten them. I came away from Rotherham thinking, I can't believe we drew 1-1, we let them back in. But a few days later, you just gotta hold your hands up and say the opposition deserved it.
