Let's wait for the silly over reaction fact lost one in 12 .....that's a fantastic start Yes it was not our best day today but o am sure we will have a few more before the season ends ..... Nothing learnt today that we did not know ... We need a striker a target man and Jackson should not be first choice in midfield ....
Colin Sams, more predictable than an atomic clock.
Weird performance. They didn't actually press Buyens that much because we weren't capable of building from the back today. They mostly had the ball, and got by our full backs far too easily. Then when we won it back they pressed, we panicked and gave it back to them and the cycle continued. Towards the end we started playing the high ball up with KAG, Moussa and Harriott as our attacking players which was insane. Gudmundsson had a good free kick well saved, Wilson had an ok header cleared and that was about it. Otherwise we were once again grateful for poor finishing from the opposition. I don't think you can wear a kit that loud and play a game that dull. There should be laws.
We've overachieved so far this season IMO and 10-14th is about the level of this squad so not too disappointed or surprised to lose to a side that spent £3m on their goal scorer (they might be a smaller team historically but they've got some financial clout now). Over to you RD.... Does he want to float around mid table and build for next season or is he keen for a play off push now? If it's the latter, then the cheque book will have to be opened.
Not every other team is managed in the style of Bournemouth, and our style may prove to be more successful than unsuccessful generally during the season.
I fear to type this out loud, but from the outside looking in we seem to lack fitness as expressed in energy, and competitiveness, and speed. The stats might prove me wrong, but it looks that way, although I am not advocating headless chickenism, but would like to see a bit more charge and zip around the team.
The other thing to whisper is about character on the field, commitment to the cause if you like, and whatever you may think of JJ he gives more in that sense than any other of our present midfielders. I would like to think that everybody can be as responsible as Jacko, Solly, TBH, Igor, and Bikey usually are, and to show it every game.
The poxy international break, crap away kit, and stupid bookies odds were probably the root cause, but we don't have much thinking/reflection/rehabilitation time this week, and for the players and management...well you've had your mini holiday, now for some hard work.
Sounds pretty disappointing but we weren't going to stay unbeaten forever so hopefully this can be a catalyst to snap out of being a bit too defensive etc, clearly missing some attacking options though. I guess the main positive is that even when we don't play well, we are strong enough defensively to stay in games so we can nick some more undeserved equalisers or winners until our attack clicks a bit.
Watched it online. Really disappointing. Too many poor passes, touches and decisions, we just couldn't keep the ball which meant we barely created any chances. Even if we've not had enough possession in other games I always felt we were creating some decent chances.
Good to see KAG get a chance, but don't think we should be playing him up front on his own, I don't think it suits Igor, nevermind a 17 year old. Time to give Tucudean another go?
Did Igor have an injury? Could understand Jackson coming off at h/t but not Igor.
beaten by a side that can pass incisively between its own players whilst we managed to pass backwards to ourselves, forward to the opposition or sideways to anyone. Henderson was MoM with good contributions from Bikey and Solly, the rest were poor.
perhaps loosing was a good thing as we now don't have to live up to being unbeaten. I have now seem them 3 times and my view remains that there is no point playing a passing game when the majority of the players can't make a good attacking pass.
Holding judgement. Haven't overly been too excited by the run of draws / wins, so not gonna get too disheartened today.
Unbeaten run may have ended today, but personally just not been feeling it the last few games. Teams are learning how to play against us and we need to adapt.
Strange league this one. Lose a game and all of a sudden the next two look loseable.
Watched the game on the stream , and although we seemed lively just after we conceded we never actually threatened. Taking igor off for 'safety' was probably the best in the long run but I just cannot understand what tucudean has done to have Harriot preferred over him! Would like to see us add a few bodies in the next few days and with church out I think we have a better hand to play when it comes to convincing RD.

Ive honestly thought this for the last 30 years watching us, maybe bar championship winning season and 1st season in the second stint at Prem.
Charlton, in all my time of following them, almost NEVER get walloped. Today we were vastly inferior and yet...only one goal in it. I think that this is an admirable quality, even if it does mean the inverse - we're rarely comfortable when ahead either
We've had a great start to the season, but that was really awful. Reminded me of Sheff Utd away in the cup last season - absolutely zero belief and a horrible inevitability about the result. We need to get back to our early season mindset, staring Tuesday.

Good point and that is where the problem or one of the problems lie, a midfield player who can put his foot on the ball run with it more than 10 yards and make a good positive forward attacking pass. We have shown in brief spells in some games that we can be a good team but the balance of the side for me seems wrong. Buyens and Jacko should not be the midfield centre pairing, one of them needs to give way for Moussa who is probably the most creative player we have who can play in the the middle, not saying he is the answer but he now deserves a run in the team occupying the cm spot. Always think we play better when George is playing alongside Igor too.
Plan A was abandoned completely today, we didn't even try playing it out from the back as Bournemouth pressed us high and tight. Consequently Henderson was launching it long and possession invariably lost. Caught cold and sloppy for the goal and in truth could have gone in at half-time 3-0 down, but for some wasteful end product from the Cherries. Second half we were sent out to play at a much higher tempo and get forward to support the strikers. We were better, but not much and didn't create anything Bob seemed to try everything, but it was futile as we kept giving the ball away. We seem to have been found out and Bob has got his work cut out to get us back on track, I think
Started by matching up to Bournemouth's 4-4-2. But we're outplayed in midfield. Eddie Howe always gets his full backs forward to overload the opposition full backs and we allowed them free rein throughout the first half, particularly on Solly's side of the pitch, where Gudmundsson allowed the Bournemouth left back to run off him time and again.
The double substitution meant a switch to the 4-4-2 diamond, then towards the end, Bikey went to CF and we went 3-4-3. To be fair to Peeters, that was a positive move to try to get back into the game. But weren't gonna score if we played all day.
Bournemouth were sharper, first to the ball and better organised throughout. They were also diving gits, who conned the traffic warden referee all afternoon.
Unless we find some hold-up play in the front line, it will be the same story in the weeks to come.
We seem to have been found out and Bob has got his work cut out to get us back on track, I think
This is the nub of it. We know we're a work in progress, and we know our squad is thin...thinner if Igor joins Church in the treatment room. I don't expect Bob to magic up new players, and for the most part he has used what we have very well, so what remains to be seen is if Bob and his management team can orchestrate a strategy using what he has left, and it is going to take the skill that, on the evidence so far, Bob has. There comes a point however where we have tried everything and we will then have to be content that what we have is what we have providing that in the absence of everything else the players play like they are prepared to die for the cause even if aspects of what we can do are limited.
This Igor injury thing is a major concern - without him we are basically impotent. I watched Igor off the ball last home game and he was limping last 20 minutes. With our dearth of attacking options we can't afford him to be out for a prolonged period, but we may have to face up to the possibility.
A few weeks ago this team was the dogs Bollocks but now we have been susted out and teams are closing us down faster! What is worrying is Bob doesn't have plan c, but well done for him to bring young players into the team though!!
Expectations have been too high, so I'm not surprised. It's got a Chrissy Powell feel about it, the team needs strengthening. I don't see what BP can do about that apart from toe the line and trot out loyal platitudes.
Feelings from the press box are much the same as the away end - full of frustration!
Bournemouth attacked us from the start and didn't let us settle. I lost count how many short corners they had, obviously a tactic against Zonal marking.
Felt for Ahearne-Grant. He has some nice moments, but really needs an experienced head upfront with him to feed off.
Worst I've seen this defensive line up play this season and the midfield wasn't great either.
Second half, our midfield was a bit better, but again a lack of threat from the wide areas and the lack of height in the penalty box didn't help.
We do need additions, one or two to add depth and enough to give us something that bit 'different'.
A player needed. But it isn't just signings, it is improving style of play. We are solid and have a great defence. Surely with better service our attackers could do better. Sign a midfield player and move cousins to the centre and Harriot wide, gudmunsson on the other wing with jacko. Then see how much better it is

Don't understand why we keep trying to play intricate passes close to the sideline all the time.
Players need to move around a lot more when they don't have the ball, no space seems to be created hence our passing is poor.
TBh and Bikey got exposed a lot today
