I don't think the club or the players have done themselves any favours by buggering the fans about , i feel for the people that go to lengths to organise these things and keep getting let down for whatever reason.
The club and the players can refuse to do anything, point blank. But if they do agree they ought not to let people down without a very good excuse. We all know if anybody says 'yeah, I should be able to make it' it is code for 'never in a million years'.
I also feel sorry for the 3 young lads that got parachuted in at the last moment
Everyone should know that the three young men who came last night on very short notice represented our club extremely well. They were courteous & polite and I daresay, rather enjoyed the evening!
Just to let anyone that's interested know how the meeting went yesterday evening I will post up some notes shortly. I got home about 11.30pm last night and I was up at 4.30 this morning for work. I Got in about an hour ago, Have a few things to sort out.

No excuse, notes should have been up by 12.00 midnight the latest, what are you hiding from us? Wibble, Wibble
A Report from last night's meeting with the 3 Guests provided by the club.
Well, a very interesting insight into the players from the academy who came along to the branch meeting last night at such short notice.
The players were polite, courteous and happy to talk about how they are are happy to be at Charlton.
kurtis said that Watford was not that much different from Charlton, Watford have an under 18's but not an under 21's, Charlton provided Him With a good opportunity which he wouldn't have been given at Watford. At Watford he was given lots of help and advice From Chris Iwelumo, he also trained with Stephen McGinn.
The Charlton academy has a good reputation which Kurtis was aware of and he mentioned that seeing players like Gomez. Fox and solly was an inspiration, he also thinks that he has improved as a player since he arrived at the academy.
kurtis started his career at the age of 13 at Tottenham Hotspur but was let go at the age of 15, he then went on to Watford, he only recently came to Charlton, he is now training full time. Asked about his Time at Tottenham he said that the emphasis was on Technical Ability, now at Charlton he can concentrate more on his defensive side of the game, he also spoke about how much harder it becomes training wise when you make the step up to the under 21's.
The other thing that he mentioned was that there is a healthy interaction with the 1st team players who help and encourage the youngsters by offering advice and also treating them the same, it sounds like a very friendly set up.
In General life is good, the training is enjoyable and also something to look forward to,.
Tobi sho-silva is an acdemy player who recently extended his contract with the club and has also recently completed a loan spell at Welling United. He enjoyed his spell at Welling and became a fans Favourite, he also spoke Highly of the Manager at Welling Jamie Day.
Toby said that the playing side at welling was a lot more Physical and sometimes more direct but he learnt a lot from going out on loan and would do so again if the opportunity arose, He made just under 20 appearances and also got Goal of the month for Welling against Cambridge united which can be seen on you tube. Tobi also spoke about his experience playing for the England under 18's which he is proud to have been involved with, he room shared with an Aston Villa player.
Terrell Thomas started playing at Arsenal at the age of 8 and said that he is now enjoying his time at Charlton, He Feels that his game has improved all round and that Jason is a good coach. Also told us about how they get to see the games they have played in and that This helps a lot with the development side of things, Said the player he enjoys watching and learning from Is David Luiz(Paris St Germain) Terrell also spoke about Zonal Marking and Man marking, the question arose from the recent Brighton 2-2 and Terrell said it was basically down to the manager how the team would be expected to play, said that there was more of a direct impact from the zonal system.
The boys all really enjoy training and want to knuckle down, work hard and hopefully get into the 1st team. Jason Euell is respected by the players and this would appear to be the case as the players all think the have improved and are really enjoying being at the academy.
A really good night , that's about all I can remember for now.
It was only my 2nd meeting and I really enjoyed it. Thought the 3 young lads from the U 21's did really well especially at such short notice. Bit disappointed Pope and Harriet didn't show though. Last time I came Yann and Dervite turned up half an hour late. Do the players normally act like these things don't really matter?
Comments
Does not great on the club changing the players so late in the day.
Could put people off in future attending these events for the above reason meaning less goodwill for the local groups concerned.
Personally I find ex players are the best bet for this kind of evenings.

Also, given the bad reputation young footballers have in some people's eyes, good to hear what seem to be level headed lads getting on with it.
It's the ones who don't who are the problem. I'm thinking of YOU Dale Stephens.
If you get my drift badger. (i know you guys work hard at the branches to try to make these things happen)
Fair play.
