FFS. I've been bored, like many others, yet I still follow on because I'm curious and I hope the guy signs.

However that last tweet just suggests to me that this is the final round in a desperate attempt at playing different clubs off against each other, and y'know what? It's getting rather tedious now.

It begs the question though, if it's this obvious to those doing the wheelin' 'n' dealin' how desperate the chairman in France is... surely to goodness it's calling every chancer in Europe to start putting in low ball offers for their players because they're obviously up the creek.

I remember dreading the weeks after we got rid of Button; surely every scout, agent and manager could've been thinking "hah, Charlton are struggling - lets see what loot we can get out of them whilst they try and pay bills this month". Similarly, when we got rid of Yann and Stephens, to me that said "This new chap has come in and he's trying to get every penny he can for these players who will be worthless soon.. that means most these lads probably wont even be getting new contracts!".

So surely to goodness it's about time that Tours stopped airing their dirty laundry in public and just got on with negotiations. Stop talking about all these brilliant offers you're getting and attempting to play different teams off against each other - because, quite frankly, you're acting like an estate agent - and nobody likes estate agents.. ;)

As for Eric, he's your son and you're his agent; fair play, you're trying to get the best deal for him. However, try and remember who's currently paying his wages, and remember who may be paying them next month. You're already looking like a complete and utter nightmare to work with, and I wouldn't blame anyone for seeing you as a deal breaker.

Other than that, it's great to know we're putting in competitive offers with the likes of Wigan (newly relegated and quite well run.) for a position that isn't even our weakest. Similarly, it's brilliant to see that Katrien and Roland both see that there's more to negotiations than simply finances - and by offering access to some of the resources we have (and are developing) we can open new avenues of business. So as far as Charlton Athletic goes - we're looking good.

    Rant well and truly over.

I struggle to see what significant value access to training facilities could have, if that's on the table. It's not as if they are even that good by modern standards - the club tried to monetise this prior to the Olympics without success. As for developing, without a spade in the ground, a date for work to start and the widespread suggestion that the eventual intended scheme is not the one that has planning consent, that's a bit of a nebulous commodity at present.
All fair points but that assumes that it was Charlton's training facilities that were offered rather than Standards (no idea how good they are) or that the translation of "training facilities" is accurate.

More likely that it is some sort of access to scouting, coaching, loans etc if it is actually Roland or even true at all but that is, like most of this thread, just guess work.
All true. I'm not assuming it, though, just pointing out that use of the training ground is bit like offering to pop round to cut the grass once a year when you are selling a house with a garden. It might be nice to have but it isn't going to be a material consideration in a seven-figure transaction. Crockenhill once accepted a set of tracksuits for Tony Cascarino, I think, but the reason deals are generally done with money is that money is what the vendor wants!
or even first option to loan development squad players by a Premier League team, who only offer you positions already covered.
  • @Ric__George: @AndyDelort9 Wigan un excellent club pour toi. Stable et ambitieux avec un grand pdt et un bon coach. Et c'est dans le nord. Rien de mieux!

Ric__George : @ AndyDelort9 Wigan a great club for you. Stable forward with great pdt and a good coach. And it is in the north. Nothing better !

Previously he retweeted the club tweet about Reza going on loan, plus another retweet from a Charlton fan saying 'hurry up and sign'

He's having some fun with this I would imagine now.

Big BP's press day coming up, so I'm sure he'll be asked the question.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't get anyone, whether or not that's old Andy.

oh no, so the Delort saga could go on longer than we thought?

We can look forward to his dad tweeting about Hereford loaning him to us for the next few months as well.

Are you allowed to sign foreign players on loan during that window... I thought it was just English teams that could swap (seeing we didnt take any additional Standard Liege rejects on loan once the January Window closed?)

Luckily I am going away on Monday, so I won't be glued to Sky Sports News, watching Mr White internally combust.

Can you let us know if you see Andy Delort with his Mum / Dad / Sister / Brother / Pet Dog at any Airport / Train Station / Ferry Terminal / Service Station / Car Hire place on Monday?

The transfer window doesn't close. It SLAMS SHUT!!!!

just after teams have SWOOPED (like eagles (or any other raptor - not refering to palace here)) for players
  • it will happen on deadline day. Tours want to sell him for the highest fee they can but the player wants to leave. He'll be signing deadline day i'm sure.
  • Couldn't give a monkey's anymore about the Delort clan. Is this the most hyped up signing/ non signing in the history of CL ?

  • I feel like every other comment on this is someone pointing out they no longer care about the Delort saga anymore.
