Oh, just for the record I have no problem with pubs showing dodgy tv, I'm jsut very well aware of how illegal it currently is.
The bird from Portsmouth does have a reasonable chance of victory, fairly strong arguments, the problem is if she was to win sky will lose so much money, which is probably reason enough for her to be unsuccessful.
[cite]Posted By: WSS[/cite]i'm not sure what the punishment is if pubs get "caught" doing it but any fines of a couple of grand must be offset by the increased revenue taken?
And if police were running around the pubs every saturday and sunday looking for people watching football rather than doing something useful i'd go mad
A pub i know got found out and the landlord was basically told by Sky that if they called again and still had the arab tv, then they'd be fined heavily and sky removed from the pub.
Was good how much noise about 40 of us made in that covered area, lol, the acoustics there are brilliant, dread to think how good that is with 1,000 or so.
As for our poor away support the way I look at it is: our board are taking £120,000 out of the club's money to pay for all of us to go up to Blackburn so why not give something back by making the extra effort to attend a game given that it's at an awkward time, on a Sunday and that there are limited travel options?
We are tremendously lucky to have the board and management we have but I think sometimes a few people take the p**s. A lame excuse for not going to Everton is bad enough, just as a lame excuse for not going to Blackburn is scandalous.

We are lucky but some people just can't do it all the time. What do you consider a lame excuse?

I wouldn't suggest that it has been anything I have read here on this site but from friends and others I know who support the club have made up some pretty lame excuses recently! Maybe it's because I just happen to take it all a lot more seriously than they do, lol, but I do get your point that we can't all go to games week in week out. My 'lame' excuse is that if it's on TV I refuse to go but personally I didn't think yesterday would have been that much of a stretch for some people......
as Morts said earlier i did my time 15 years ago for approx 10 years home and away when we visited some shiteholes.I've done Goodison on a monday night pre sky television, when there was a fixture pile up.Mortgages children and work have taken over.We done our time on crowds of 6,000 it's time for others to step up to the plate.
