Yeah I was gutted when he left Charlton!

Sorry, that was my psychotic hatred of West Ham gene automatically kicking in...
  • He also never won them promotion. He "illegally" scored the goals that kept the cockernee cheats up that year
  • I stand corrected. Still hate the twats...

    ah yeah remember that now...
  • Mike Small
    Leroy Rosenior
    Mark Robson
    Sasa Illic
  • We are their feeder club, Billy Bonds transfer started the trend in 1967 for £60k, get over it we move on :-0
  • Derek Hales

Wrong, Killer went to Derby for a record £333k transfer into our kitty who never impressed there and then was sold onto Wet Spam.

    Not wrong. Hales qualifies.

The Original Poster asked for players who played for Charlton before playing for West Ham at some point in their career. Hales was one of those.

With Poyet going to West Ham, it got me thinking how many players played for Charlton before playing for West Ham and some point in their career

Also the likes of Kyel Reid, Mark Robson, Paul Kitson and of course Alan Curbishley played for West Ham before joining Charlton, which disqualifies them from being included.

Hey, Paulie - it's your thread. When are you going to post your best Charlton - West Ham XI ?

Sorry Oggster Hales only qualifies via the back door in my book, the poster set the wrong question :-)

    Made me laugh!

Of course, Chaser. The OP set the wrong question.

    Why didn't I see that?

    ;o)
  • Konchesky to West Ham?

Already included in the first post on the thread.

  • loved webbo, I remember a volley he scored from outside the box at upton park to beat Bristol. Proper top corner!!

lots of players have got between the two clubs over the thames many with a lot of success, so this bodes well for Diego.

oh yes what a goal that was by webbo! 25 yard half volley in off the underside of the bar! It never hit the net either
  • Hales to derby then west ham would count coz parker went to chelsea spurs then west ham! so to minto to chelsea benfica then west ham
  • Didn't kitson play for west ham again after playing for us , does that qualify him
Think he got a hatrick for them against us season or two after he got the winner at palace for us

I think Kitson was on loan to us from West Ham when he scored the winner against 'them'.
  • Wasn't Mike Small on loan to us from West Ham. Didn't Curbs say his loaning of Illic to West Ham (Where he let in a shed load on his debut) pay back for Small.
  • Who could forget the legendary Mike Small (two games for us on loan)? Similarly useless: Frank Nouble.

Djimi Traore. Was a hammer 30mins into his debut for us.
  • I know the movement was in the 'wrong' direction for this list, but didn't the very wonderful Billy Lansdowne come to us from the 'Ammers? Later played in Finland, I believe - or was it Denmark?

Indeed, he did - he did not just play against us he actually scored a hat-trick!

He played for us at the back-end of the 99/00 promotion season and then went back to West Ham.

I think West Ham unloaded him onto us. I have a vague memory of him scoring a hat trick for someone, but don't think it was us.

Not quite for us: Billy Lansdowne scored a brace in our 5-2 home win against Orient in 1982. Over two seasons he made 34 apps, scoring five.

Finland, think he played for HJK.
