With Poyet going to West Ham, it got me thinking how many players played for Charlton before playing for West Ham and some point in their career
Also the likes of Kyel Reid, Mark Robson, Paul Kitson and of course Alan Curbishley played for West Ham before joining Charlton, which disqualifies them from being included.
Hey, Paulie - it's your thread. When are you going to post your best Charlton - West Ham XI ?

Sorry Oggster Hales only qualifies via the back door in my book, the poster set the wrong question :-)
Didn't kitson play for west ham again after playing for us , does that qualify him Think he got a hatrick for them against us season or two after he got the winner at palace for us

I think Kitson was on loan to us from West Ham when he scored the winner against 'them'.
Wasn't Mike Small on loan to us from West Ham. Didn't Curbs say his loaning of Illic to West Ham (Where he let in a shed load on his debut) pay back for Small.
I know the movement was in the 'wrong' direction for this list, but didn't the very wonderful Billy Lansdowne come to us from the 'Ammers? Later played in Finland, I believe - or was it Denmark?

Indeed, he did - he did not just play against us he actually scored a hat-trick!

I think West Ham unloaded him onto us. I have a vague memory of him scoring a hat trick for someone, but don't think it was us.

Not quite for us: Billy Lansdowne scored a brace in our 5-2 home win against Orient in 1982. Over two seasons he made 34 apps, scoring five.

The Original Poster asked for players who played for Charlton before playing for West Ham at some point in their career. Hales was one of those. Also the likes of Kyel Reid, Mark Robson, Paul Kitson and of course Alan Curbishley played for West Ham before joining Charlton, which disqualifies them from being included.

Of course, Chaser. The OP set the wrong question.
Why didn't I see that?
;o)

He played for us at the back-end of the 99/00 promotion season and then went back to West Ham.
