Very pleased. He's going to be one helluva keeper. I was never worried about Hamer leaving because Pope is even better. He is a top-class organiser, and has the rare ability to judge a cross very early, looking forward to seeing our new No 1 next season. The only question mark against him is: does he hate Palace or not?
Proved himself at York and, although it doesn't mean much, he's always looked very assured warming up before matches at the Valley with Roberts/Hamer/Alnwick/Sullivan. He has to be No.1 now.
A four year contract is great business sense - if he does well, he will be snapped up this time next year by a Prem club, but not go for nothing like Hamer.
It feels like there are similarities in his route and that of Hart and Henessey. Just hope people are patient, when he makes the odd inevitable mistake next season.
Great news and yet another U24 signed up for the long term. I really hope he is good enough to start the season and has the support of two or three decent centre halves so he can bed in at this level. We are 100% sorted at full back so Morrison, Wood, Gomez and Lennon or does this need topping up? Looking forward to our first game already and the fixtures are not even out yet!
I saw Dillon a couple of times for the Youth team and last season in the U21 game at Palace. I have been very impressed with him . Before saying he can be the number 2 , I would like him to have a loan spell in League One or Two similar to Pope. If you look at Hamer's career at Reading or Button's at Spurs both of them played over 100 league games before joining us but neither played in the league for their parent club only appearing in Cup games. Next season we should try to find Dillon a club to do this in.
We definitely need an experienced Keeper to help develop / compete with Pope .

Dillion's distrubution is much better
A player who made the most of his loan spell, won over the York fans and was/is a credit to our Club.
This could be the REAL start of his goalkeeping career.

Met Bob Peeters at the training ground and we're going to Belgium and Spain in pre-season.
