  • The Vatican will be happy, but what about Church?
  • Great stuff. Glad this wasn't one of those 'joke' threads that ended up being about the Vatican or something.
  • Excellent news , we do need an experienced Keeper as cover though.
  • Great news, would be happy to see him get a chance as number 1 this season.
  • Didn't realize he was as "old" as 22.

For the sort of commitment and age it does look like he will be the new number 1.
  • Nice 1
  • Great news. Really is.
  • Pleasing news
  • Very good news.

  • At last, some good news!
  • Fantastic news.
  • I'm delighted, good lad who had a good season on loan. Congratulations to Nick.
  • As long as he isn't 2nd to thuram
  • Excellent news...congrats Nick
  • As long as he isn't 2nd to thuram

article says Thuram has returned to Liege.

  • I'm surprised but pleased to see this.

He signed a new three year deal less than 9 months ago.
  • A sign that he'll be number one I hope. Great news.
  • Well done the board.

Let us hope start of things to come.

  • If I'm correct this is the 4th contract he's signed with us, 3 times the club have extended (and presumably improved) his terms, so clearly they have great confidence in him. It's worth contrasting this with the 1 year terms that the likes of Button and Alnwick got.
  • Great news. Even if we don't play him as No. 1 we still have him to loan out.
  • Great news lets hope we hear something positive about Gomez as well.
  • White smoke outta The Valley.....

  • Good call, he is now a sellable asset if he has a good season. We should be able to get a decent fee going forward.

  • Great news, we still need an experienced back up keeper though.

Agreed. A 33/34 year old keeper who can help provide solid and reliable back up (just as Thomas Myhre did for us at the time) would be ideal.
  • Only 4 years?

    Pardew got 6 at NUFC
