Curbs to return?

If Jose doesn't remain in charge then why not go back to A.C? He's not doing much else and is not too old. Steve Coppell went back to Palace about 101 times usually doing well - it could work and bring some confidence back to the club and to sponsors etc.

Might work as director of football with a younger head coach. Obviously didn't work out that well at Fulham but don't think that was his fault.

I bow to no man (with the possible exception of ooh ah) in my love for Curbs.

BUT he is not working now arguably because of winning a tribunal for constructive dismissal because the West Ham Board sold players without his say so.

Curbs is a manager not a "head coach" and would want the autonomy to select and reject HIS players within a given budget. That does not sit easy with Roland's "network" approach in my opinion.

Therefore, in my view, the appointment of Curbs would be short and not particularly sweet.

I love Curbs to bits but time has moved way too far on. I don't believe he has the hunger or appetite to start the entire job all over again from where he began and arguably we are in a worse position than when he first came in certainly in personnel terms.

Fortunately there is a man who has that hunger and desire, and some. Unfortunately, we already sacked him!

As much as I loved curbs we need new ideas at the club. Its a thanks but no thanks from me.

I don't think he would want to come back either.
  • No don't be silly I would not have him back at all

Curbs and Duchatelet that combination is sure to work well ! I am sure that Roland will really appreciate the upfront and no holds barred opinions of Curbs. Curbs does well with those kind of owners.

Yes please. Won't happen though. Not sure he'd be so loyal this time round either and can't see him getting on with Duchatelet.

    I think I must.be going mental.

Most people seem to be saying 'nah', as if we were talking about Lomas, Dowie, John Barnes or some other disaster. Crazy.

For the record, I very much doubt we will see a British manager again all the while Duchatelet owns the club.

I'd be looking for a season ticket refund, if he came through the door ! He had lost the plot and became to big for his boots at the end, the man who could do no wrong !
    Di Canio anybody ?

I'd never heard of Riga and if Jose doesn't take the job I doubt I will have heard of the replacement.
  • Curbs and Duchalet would be an accident waiting to happen. They'd be miles apart on strategies.

Curbs great Charlton manager but he has not manager for 5 years. Since then he has turned down the opportunity to manage at a lower level than the prem because he deserved a prem job. Nobody has that divine right. If he was not prepared to fight for that job even by dropping down a level then he does not show the necessary fight to manage us to the top, so thanks curbs enjoy your punditry.

jesus - cant some people move on !!!

Surely if this season has shown anything is that sometimes it may be best to have someone in charge who has no connection to the club.

for me JR was a breath of fresh air.

Love curbs but it's a big No.

    Move on. Keep the memories.

I don't think it would make a positive impact either.

We seem to be in a minority. I don't understand it - look at the age of Fergusson before he retired or Pellegrini...A.C is still quite young in comparison. We haven't moved on - we've moved back!

Can't say I'd be disappointed if he got the job. Sadly, I think there's more chance of Dowie coming back than Curbs..........................

I doubt that Roland has even heard of Curbishley never mind thought about making him manager.
