  • A) Guaranteed away tickets
  • Had a standing order for years, obviously helps the club out.
  • A. it's only £10 to support your club and the further of Charlton.3 years in a row now player of the year has come from the youth team. Cut out going to the pub ones a month and there your £10.

    A) Unless RD decides he does not need the money will continue with SO/DD. (also get £15 off season ticket renewal)
  • A - Cause it helps support our Academy.
  • A - A cheap way of improving the quality of our youngsters.
  • A. Support the academy and priority for away tickets.
  • D. I'll let you lot pay for their development and I'll just enjoy watching them. :-)

Seriously, as a charity, does it have staff on salaries? Because if I rejoined, I'd be interested to know what % of my £10 was actually going to the acadamy.

I think there is a % that can go on salaries. As a charity, how does the gift aid work?

A.. Support the academy and priority for away tickets.
  • C, i think

I think no more than 50% can go on salaries. As a charity, how does the gift aid work?

You pay your £10 a month to Valley Gold (VG) HMRC will pay £2.50 although the mechanics will probably involve VG making an annual claim for the total amount of gift aid they are entitled to in the tax year.

Total gross donation £12.50 made up of 80% net £10 and 20% basic rate tax.

    That's it for most.

However if you are lucky enough to earn sufficient to pay income tax at higher rates then you can also reclaim personally the difference between the basic rate (20%) and the rate at which you pay tax for gift aided charitable donations
  • A) Love being able to play in part in funding the youth who are more important than ever and I only see their importance rising.

A- Greater ticket priority for play-off final &investment in clubs future.
  • A. In from the start.
  • C hopefully

If it is a charity and separate from the football club then how or why does it influence ticket priorities?
  • C

I have been a member in the past and i have been meaning to rejoin, will do before the new season.
  • A because you know it makes sense !
  • A - mainly do it for away ticket priority, plus the discount for the season ticket/club shop mean it's not as expensive as it could be.
  • D - can't afford it. Hopefully will one day!

  • D- Get away priority on my 5 year season ticket. Also every year the 5 year season ticket holders are patronised about the scheme at the yearly meeting, I go even further away from joining.

  • A - Just doing my bit. Because they're worth it!
  • A. Charlton players of the future when we have no transfer budget.

Will be watching you Roland - if too many homegrown stars get exchanged for more useless foreign toot I may consider pulling the plug!
  • D) Can't afford it.
  • A) the future is Valley Gold!
  • A) never been asked to renew. Is this just Henry's way of starting a thread?? ;-)

Nor have I ...always need to send them a reminder rather than the correct way round
  • A) a worthy charity for any/all CAFC supporters. I don't know how many contributors there are, but it may not be a bad thing if names were published at least once each season, just to re-assure all that their names are still in "the hat".
  • A) a worthy cause/charity so glad to support the young 'uns.
  • D. Used to be a member but it lapsed with money issues. I can't afford to go to many matches and can't afford this.

I did win though, my number 511 being drawn out by Jim Davidson. Which upset me. Can't abide the man.
