  • Has Diego said what international team he is going to play for?

He is eligible for England Spain and Uruguay

Would suggest Spain as he has played for their U18's but don't think he has declared yet

Forget that I'm wrong he's played for England his youth career
I got the impression reading the interview with him on the Independent that he'd definitely like to play for England.
  • Fixed. Why wasn't Yann there about. He was in the running when I looked at the the numbers on the clip board.
  • Fixed. Where was Yohann Thurham on the list?

He has said in the past that it would be England but that he'd have to consider Uruguay if they came calling.
  • Church must've been gutted
  • Just watched his interview. Says CAFC is "the best place to be". Well sign that contract, then, Diego!! Please ;-)

    Poyet POTY interview
  • Positive interview. Seems very level headed. Hopefully he signs a new four year deal in the next few days ;-)...
  • He is, so, mature. He has impressed me on the pitch this season and to speak that confidently at 19 bodes well for him.

If I didn't have enough reasons to want him to stay, there is another one.

  • He was called up for England under 19, but looking at their squad for the games, he is not in it. It says he was called up for training, May 12-15, does this mean he is back at Charlton and ready for contract talks?

My guess is he would have been offered 2 if not 3 contracts so far.
    He won't sign
  • dervite, morro and hamer are all off and poyet is gonna sign on the dotted line???

    naaaaaaaaaaaaaa
  • I can't see any way that he'll sign - the absolute best we could hope for would be a loan back but that sounds like clutching at straws.

Poyet does seem completely deserving based on his 20 Performances this year

4 Performances so far this year. Powell didn't even want to keep him at Hudds!

What a wonderful turn of events!

    He was recalled no?
  • Spoke to someone in the know yesterday. There were discussions with West Ham and Poyet was not keen to come back on loan.

Nope sent back after only being used for 2 of the 4 games he was there for!

Are you sure about that, looks to me like it was a 1 month loan deal that expired December 6th and that's when he returned to West Ham

So it was just a one month loan, I knew he had been back at West Ham for at least a week, because there was talks about him playing against Sunderland on Saturday
