So many heroes tonight. Callum Harriott with a performance that hopefully helps him push on next year. Jacko in his new Steven Gerrard holding role was immense second half. Poyet again amazing - what I wouldn't give for even one more year of him. Great to have Cousins back in the middle. And Lawrie Wilson is much more than alright!
So, so pleased. What a season of ups and downs it has been but so relieved we are staying up where we need to be, relegation would have really set us back big time. Looking forward to seeing what unfolds over the summer (hopefully starting with securing Diego Poyet on a new contract ASAP!) - great stuff from Harriott tonight but I'm particularly proud of Jackson - has been written off by a few but I don't think he can ever be accused of not grafting for the team over the years - he deserves his part of the praise for keeping us up tonight. We don't get much glory as Addicks fans but tonight getting that win feels brilliant, so enjoy it everyone! COYA!
So pleased a patient kept me busy for last 20 mins as the stress was killing me. Just found out result. What a game. What a team. Great way to finish terrible season of home games. Thank you lads and Mr Riga, whoever stays for next season, i am just glad it's in the Championship. Don't know what the atmosphere was like tonight, ending the season on a night game, but hope the faithful lost their voices singing and cheering.
Looking forward to Blackpool so much now. Tickets..got. Hotel...got. Money...got. Bring on the dancing girls quiet night in the hotel with a relaxing cuppa and early night, ready for the big not so big game.
I'm pretty sure CP will be with us in his heart and breath a sense of relief with the rest of us.
6 ex youth team players in the starting line up no network players and a great performance and brilliant atmosphere - all those slagging off Harriett hang your heads in shame
One of only two games I've enjoyed this season, the other being Doncaster. Every other game I've seen, we've either screwed up or looked like we were going to screw up!
Really good team performance that began with a well-balanced starting 11.
Harriott had some poor moments, mixed with good wing play and two cracking finishes. Shows the folly of slating a young winger and saying he "shouldn't be anywhere near the team again" after being played out of position.
Solly and Wilson didn't let anyone pass on the right. Really like that combination and good to see some diving runs from Wilson.
Cousins didn't have one of his best games but put in a shift. Jackson and Poyet played well in the centre.
Great ball from Fox for Jacko's goal and a good run from the skipper to get there. Jacko was full of energy today, an example to Astrit.
The only criticism is how open we were through the middle in the period around their goal but looked solid after getting the second.
Marvin didn't get a sniff but looked sharp. Obika haters - you're right, I'm wrong. Had a hand in the goal but pretty poor otherwise. His first touch was appalling.
Almost joined in with "Jose Riga's Red and White army" ;-) No CP comparisons, just a well done to Jose on achieving the end goal with a decent performance to boot.
Phew!! What a relief!! Fantastic stuff. All that mattered is the result so not much to say.
I'd make two points - neither of them really mean anything.
First, Uwe Rosler and others should take note. One of the great strengths of the Football League is its honesty and integrity. Nobody simply rolls over even when they have nothing to play for. Watford proved that tonight.
Second, when Troy Deeney equalised on the hour I'd have taken a point there and then. I honesty believe that if the breaks had cut differently during that first hour we'd have been worrying about our goal difference. Who cares though!!
Two fantastic finishes by Harriott. Diego Poyet immense, yet again. Brilliant substitution by Riga when replacing Sordell with Obika. That really worked.
I hope all those going to Blackpool can now enjoy a wonderfully relaxing day by the seaside!!
Couldn't bear to listen. My lad called me at half time. I sat watching the TV knowing he would call at the final whistle. "Hi Dad we did it!!! 3-1!!!!" Wow what a relief. I'd rather be there than listen on the radio. I just couldn't go tonight.
All that worry - all gone and basking in that glow of relief.
Fantastic, what a relief. IMO if Harriot had played the whole season and Wilson played more games in right midfield, we'd have been nowhere near the bottom.
Emotionally drained. What a night. Performance of the season from the lads. Sounds like Riga won't be here next season but top marks to him and the entire squad. I'll sleep well tonight, dreaming of a Yann hat-trick on Saturday. Will post properly tomorrow. COYR!
From zero to hero Calum, take a bow man of the match. It's funny how we, the supporters were two steps ahead, what with Jordan playing inside, Wilson over there with Solly (a wonderful combination from those three in the first half btw), Calum on the left, and no imports, if you don't count Obika, on the pitch. The right team selection, the right attitude, the right result, and thank goodness this awful season sees us survive. The Watford bloke had been chipping unpleasantly throughout the match and I was glad to see him go, the ref was right, although I thought the Watford bloke was going to chin him, bizarre East Stand lino, but it was actually a rightly given free kick that led to their goal, well finished by Deeley. Anyway, so what about their goal, how beautiful that it was Jacko, Jacko who will always be one of the most fondly thought of Charlton players for years to come, it was a Jacko scramble that did it, and then the goal of the game from Calum which was better than Deeleys. Relief is my overwhelming feeling, plus for once we will have a very interesting close season to help us through bloody Wimbledon, oh and the World Cup to come too, and we can go again in the brave new Duchatelet construction for 2014-2015. All the players played well, a big up for Morgan Fox, not his fault Wiggy got injured, Poyet is so consistently good you take it for granted, the rest were great...liked Wilsons contribution a lot, so good to see Chris Solly being Chris Solly, but my great big kiss on the top of the head goes to Jacko.

Why did we care how Birmingham did when Doncaster have 44 points?
Sounded pretty stupid.
Other than that one of the best Valley nights for years.
Jose Riga baby Jose Riga oohhhhhhh

Enjoyable game. Chuffed for Harriott and two fantastic finishes, the second in particular.
Riga played the team most of us would have picked and Solly and Wilson look so good on the right.
Fox was excellent. Poyet did his usual stuff and Cousins allowed to roam in the centre.
Lovely to see the number of Academy players involved. Fox setting up the second, Cousins quick thinking to release Wilson for the third.
Can't say much more. Too keen to read everyone else's comments.
Quick word on Watford. Horrible. Nasty, spiteful team. However, in Deeney they have a fantastic player who scored a wonderful goal.
Nice speech by Riga at the end and I must say that the management team seemed to genuinely get on judging by the emotion they showed.
Marvellous.
Extra mention for Harriott, Sordell and Fox who have stepped up in the last few games, to play such a big part in getting us over that line.
All that worry - all gone and basking in that glow of relief.
Love Jacko to bits.
