  • 2-2, with them getting a late equaliser. Would be a bit of a gutter, but I think we would definitely still have enough with a kind run-in.
  • Every game we have is winnable, but that doesn't mean we will win them. Our run in is definitely not the hardest. Win tonight and we'll be alright.

Polish Pete wasn't with the 21s yesterday. Any1 have any ideas if he could be involved tonight?

    I'd hope Riga does!

Sordell to score a double hattrick, then they'll be 15 threads on here bemoaning the fact he can't play on Friday

Our strikers are so poor at the moment prehaps we should do a Barcelona and pick 6 midfielders :)

Another minute silence for Hillsborough before the game. This is all getting a bit over the top now IMO.

I agree, why do we never have a minutes silence for all of those who died in the fire at Bradford or going further back on the stairs at Ibrox ? or how about Hysel ?
  • Charlton 4-2

It's hard to stop yourself predicting the results of the last 6 games. The problem I have is that the two sets of results below seem equally plausible to me. There's a feeling that it's an easy run-in but, at the same time, no game is easy.

    Charlton 2 Barnsley 0
    Charlton 2 Bolton 1
    Sheff W 1 Charlton 1
    Charlton 1 Blackburn 1
    Charlton 2 Watford 1
    Blackpool 0 Charlton 0

    Charlton 0 Barnsley 2
    Charlton 1 Bolton 1
    Sheff W 2 Charlton 0
    Charlton 1 Blackburn 2
    Charlton 1 Watford 1
    Blackpool 3 Charlton 0

Has anyone actually enjoyed this season? We have all spent a lot of money and time....has it all been worth it?
  • Feel really nervous about tonight. Im usually laid back, win lose or draw but for some reason I am a bag of nerves and I am dreading it :(
  • 1-0 Charlton Dorian Dervite, 100-1 on sky bet got to be worth a bet?!

Enjoyment??? Bah humbug! As Dame Judi Dench said, "My father supported Charlton Athletic. It never gave him any pleasure."

  • A draw wouldn't be a bad result for us in my view as it maintains the gap with the Tykes ,takes us above Blackpool and reinstates a 2 point advantage over the Spanners . But it would mean we would need at least 4 points over Easter from Bolton and the massives.

Having killed Yeovil off last week we can kill off Barnsley tonight. They will expose themselves at the back as this is a must win game for them and the longer it stays 0-0 the more desperate they will become.

My one fear is Barnsley scoring the first goal ,that could make our task difficult.

Just driven up from Cornwall. Staying up for this and the Bolton game. In hotel (well, actually it's the Goldsmiths Hall of Residence - £35 a night en suite and the use of a kitchen, free parking and brilliant wifi). Can't afford to keep staying in Devonport House, or even Travelodge now that they've started to charge 4* prices.
  • Big noise from everybody tonight please - we may not get many more chances like this.

Really dreading it. Apart from the 6-0 Barnsley have really been frustrating us in recent encounters and I feel they will do so again. A win would be so huge as we all know but I have a feeling they may do to us as they did to Yeovil. 3-1 to Barnsley and no relief for us Addicks.

  • Strangely optimistic. Think 2-1 us. Mind you Im saying that before I've seen the team sheet..........,
  • Key questions for me are:

    a) does he start Solly and push Wilson into the midfield? (at the expense of Reza?) - I think he'll start with Wilson at RB
    b) who plays up front? not a great choice but I think he'll start with Sordell as he doesn't seem to fancy Obika.
    c) Is anyone else too knackered and has to rest? in particular Jackson and Cousins. I think he will start them and see how it goes.
  • 6-0 Charlton (Church gets all six)
  • Ridiculously long queue outside North stand ticket office. Loads of free tickets or was west stand shut?
