Championship finances 2012/13

  • I seriously can't see our crowds in the Championship rising above 17k even if we made the play offs every year ,
imo football crowds are on a downtrend and will be for a while yet unless England win the World Cup so they're on a downtrend
  • England seems completely irrelevant to club football, cant see how that would influence it much.
Fans go where the premiership football is. In london there is lots of choice..
  • Cheaper tickets, free Wi-Fi, shorter queues and better players / results should all help but marketing is not my field so no idea how to calculate the uplift. Perhaps an offer of a free or discounted Premier League season ticket is the only way to get the numbers up significantly ?
  • Amazing thatPalace, despite making a profit on player sales and despite recently being bought out of administration had managed to build up a gross debt of over £10M. Craziness.

Is Watfords small profit driven by some kind of special sponsorship from their owners which helps them break even.

There is clearly room for us to make more commercially and if there is the right pitch in place it would make sense to have another sport played down at The Valley to bulk up revenue I guess, as would selling lots of shirts in Iran and other far flung places.

Maybe instead of a Morrocan and a Belgium we will target someone Taiwanese and Indonesian?
