The pricing has been done this way for a good few years now.
The difference this year is the lack of information as to how long you can "reserve" your current seat (s) before renewing. In the past they've said seats will be reserved until June 9th or whenever and then swapping can start.
The Asset Sweater tried to steal my seats for his stupid Crossbar thing before I and others vehemently protested. However, given that circumstance and the fact I like my existing seats, I have renewed early to keep them as I have a letter expressly stating that I do not have to take the Crossbar package to keep my seat now or "going forward."
Terrible way to do business, as supporters (customers) we should be told the option on prices so we can make an informed decision. I am still undecided whether to renew, mind you I say that every season and still pay to watch Charlton.
Slightly off thread but do we know how long your existing seat will be held open for renewal (as opposed to the cost of it). If they're pushing this Crossbars idea they'll be keen to get hold of the seats there was all the kerfuffle about, especially those in K block of the N.Upper I would think.
Whoops, sorry LEN, I'm sort of duplicating you there. Takes me a while to knock anything out these days and events overtake me!!

Correct. Often the club hasn't decided what the post-deadline prices will be and the pre-deadline take-up has been a factor in deciding it. The offer is quite clearly buy now at these prices and take your chance on what division we are in or wait and risk a price increase.
My guess is that they left out any reference to seat retention because they intended to bump people out of their seats in the upper north. Otherwise it's odd, because this is still a significant factor in some people deciding to renew early, even though there are plenty of spare seats.
As an aside, the club hasn't published any up to date terms and conditions, as far as I can tell. This means that 1) they haven't released themselves from the distance-selling regulations, which allow you a period to change your mind and b) they are in an unusually weak position if people ask for refunds should the team be relegated.
Can not see why people would renew when they don't know what they are going to get.
1) Relegation or Championship 2) most players out of contract 3) new owner who seems to treat us as a feeder club 4) no permanent management team 5) many players clearly not good enough even for 1st division. 6) policy to sell to break even.
I know every season has an element of the unknown but this close season is unlike anything in our recent history with so many uncertainties (just a few above that immediately spring to mind).
Been a season ticket holder for 35+ years so been around the block a bit, but there just seem so many things wrong at present.
I have a lot of love/affection for my club but I will not hand over my hard earned blindly. Doesn't mean I will not go but rather pick & choose my games.
When the deadline was set there was the possibility of an FA Cup semi final this weekend. The deadline may have been set with that in mind while interest in the club would have been high. I predict the deadline will be extended because there's still too much uncertainty about the division we'll be in next season.

Feeder club, who have we fed so far ? Bournemouth ? Brighton ? Manu U ?

No we have so far been fed with shit from his other teams, once we get somebody he wants he will go imho.

Distance Selling Regulations don't apply to football tickets, as they fall under the following exemption:
"Contracts to provide accommodation, transport, catering or leisure services (for example hotel accommodation; plane, train, or concert tickets; car hire; or sporting events) where you agree to provide the service on a specific date or within a specific period."

The only reason i won't renew is for financial reasons, none of the reasons 1-6 will affect my decision. Regarding Point 6, if we are a Champions League teams feeder club (which I am not convinced of) then we will have a pretty decent set of players playing for us who would otherwise be picked up by non - network teams, so its really quite irrelevant to the question.
If they're knocking out seasoto dip tickets for 150-250 quid now, they'hly unlikely to be more than 350 in the north upper.
Don't think is going to be such a big deal? Can see a percentage maybee 20% moving to the £150 area as a lot of fans from the north are at the age of going to adult pricing so cannot afford the jump from 75 to 300 but can to 150? So will leave a lot of extra spare seats in the north so no need to rush to renew? Also a lot of talk on here of moving from the north to the £150 seats? Maybee if they go up anyway i may fancy a move as I think the the atmosphere in the north is going to dip anyway due to the cheap seats elsewhere

Most people have assumed a feeder club to Liebe based on the comments of the Liege coach and RD. And if we are sending players to Upjest Dosa then they would have to be pretty crap to accept such a move, again would not want them here.
Can you imagine:-
RD "Hi Diego, Huh, we're selling you to Upjest, Huh!"
DP "Oh RD, thanks I'll go pack my bags!"
No, it will be the same as the Liege striker who was offered to us and said "Niet op je nelly" in Dutch! or in Diegos case "No en su nelly".

I think we've already seen how sensible it was by the fact the plan was dropped within three hours of going on sale. Now we'll see if Crossbars works. I'm not sure what either have to do with £150 season tickets, but there won't be any extra net revenue from Crossbars, IMO.
Lateral thinking Airman, by creating space in the North Upper if a number are moving to East Stand A block, so that the those in the Crossbars 'package' seats can be relocated in the same stand the following season.

At the moment I'm holding back from renewing my season ticket. This has nothing to do with how we are doing on or off the pitch. Under normal circumstances I would renew however I could be working most Saturdays next season so it would be silly of me to pay out £300 now only to discover a few mouths later I can't get to most home games.
By the way Amos can you take your boots along tomorrow coz you're the only winger we can trust to get past the Yeovil fullbacks! :-))
