I love his low-trajectory drop kicks, they are often inch perfect. But as others have said, you can spot the frustration sometimes when he's looking, but cannot find a target. I think the problem is twofold: Firstly, that with the exception of our centre-backs there are not many in our squad who are good in the air. If you're not so good in the air, you need to be better at finding space; sadly few in our squad seem good at this either.
Hamer can deliver a ball on the proverbial sixpence.....unfortunately that sixpence is often not placed on the pitch
I think he must have been told to aim all his goal kicks out towards the touch line, because after the second or third, you would think to change them.
This. When two or three opposition players are heading for the exact spot that your goal kick is aimed at before you've even placed the ball then it's probably time to mix it up a bit.
It must be down to the percentage game, either we head it on further down the field or it' goes out for a throw. Very little chance of a defender heading back up the field.
Hamer has one of the most accurate kicks goalkeeper kicks I've seen.
It's pretty obvious to me that he's aiming for Jackson on the touchline, because Jacko is capable of winning a header & as said above, even if he doesn't, it's likely, the ball either goes out or is headed back down the line.
If he puts it down the middle to Church, Reza, Sordell or Obika, they will probably not get a head on it & the ball will likely be headed straight down the middle into our danger zone.
Hamer, must be playing to orders & it makes good sense to me.
Also, on Tuesday, Morrison looked so uncomfortable on the ball, he wasn't going to roll it out to the right back was he ?
Continuously kicked it over to the touchline today. So predictable. No variety. He was right to play it to Poyet for the first goal but he under hit it.
