just shows what a great result the 0-0 was at the Toolbox - they must be kicking themselves that they didn't beat us the other week.
As for tonight - I wasn't there so can't comment on the game although the guys from Radio London said that both teams were really poor, but we were probably the better of the two.
Also - I did say earlier that I liked the look of the team - knew we would win.
Kind of dared to dream of a point when they failed to get Warnock in. Three is beyond my wildest. Still very worrying up front, the BBC team were really critical of Sordell. But maybe Obika can make the difference.
Sums it up for me......the bit about Sordell I mean ☺
Fantastic win, which leaves it very much in our own hands to stay up. Surprised by Barnsley's win at Reading but Yeovil are still the team I think we need to watch at the bottom. They very nearly pulled off a shock win at Leicester and i'm sure will fight all the way to the end of the season. If we can beat them and Barnsley at home we should achieve safety.
Awesome result - we were due a surprise 3 points! COYA
I don't think it was that much of a surprise. A team in turmoil without a manager, who got beaten by their local rivals 5-0 on Saturday, it was the sort of game you have to try and win, and clearly the players thought that as well, seeing how far up the pitch Cousins was!
The bookies thought it was a surprise given the pre match odds.
There is a long, long way to go and if we lose a couple on the spin then we are right back in the shite again.
NOBODY is dead and buried in this league - not even Scumwall - because with a couple of 1-0 wins you are right back in it again.
The BIG positive for us is the defence, we are always in with a shout for at least a point.
Yes, however, we will have had 3 away games on the trot where we didn't expect any points, so the points tonight and Millwalls loss will mean that we will be in a better position in two games time than most people thought. Then we have 6 home games out of next eight - it's time to get perspective - my belief is that wins against Yeovil and Barnsley and we are safe - even one win and a draw will likely be enough as games are running out for teams around us .
Typical Charlton away performance. Kept organised in the first half before getting a little more adventurous in the second.
We deserved the win in the end. Forest should have possibly scored a couple in the first half, including hitting the post, while Reza and Sordell gave the ball away in our own half too much with little touches and flicks. We got in a few dangerous areas but struggled to really turn them into decent opportunities.
We grew into it in as the second half progressed and Adjarevic became more influential. We started to win more and more second balls and looked like we wanted it more. The Forest fans were so restless and impatient and got on their players back at any opportunity, something that helped us. Take note Charlton fans.
Cousins missed a sitter before his goal which is why he took his second chance in such concentrated fashion. Great to see him breaking into the box. That little bit of invention from AA helped to create something. Obika looked stronger than Sordell up front and made a difference. Good to see Reza looked better as the game went on, and the back five and Poyet as good as we've come to expect. Jacko dependable as ever.
We are not easy to score against, something that is vital when we don't score many ourselves. Forest didn't look like scoring after we did and I actually thought we might score again.
Huge and deserved win. Takes the pressure off Derby in Saturday.
Just got back from a pub in South Manchester (to watch Citeh smash Utd). Closed my slitty eyes and logged on to Charlton life match thread without knowing the score. Went through to half time, then had another drink, just like in a real game. Carried on the thread then WHOOOOSH we score and win! Fantastic! I was going to the game but got called into work at short notice. Planning to go to Derby, but ......
Tonight was an easy game for the players in many ways, an opposition low in confidence with no manager, a restless crowd, angry with the owners, and none of the pressure and expectation they have in front of the Valley faithful. In some ways it's quite handy our next 2 games are away as well. The Barnsley and Yeovil games will be horrible though, you can imagine the atmosphere if Yeovil or Barnsley take an early lead.
Credit to everyone involved in this win, including the 270 odd Charlton fans! It's funny how much difference one goal can make, if we can build on scoring that goal and really threatens teams with the same solid defence, we'll do fine. But long way to go yet, and still not found out best XI as we seem to only come alive with subs!

Know that feeling, Mr Altrincham! Many times I've not got back until after the final whistle and done the same - followed the match thread, without knowing the final score.
So often you read posts "bollox" or "FFS!" followed by communal slitting of wrists and the naysayers posting that we're already down.
Tonight was an almost endless succession of "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!"
And then the agony and suspense, wondering if we can hang on - just like as if it was in real time!
Was there tonight. Got our just reward for keeping organised, disciplined without the ball and trying to play the right way, which we did at times. Make no mistake though, Forest were there for the taking and they were poor, very poor. Jackson stand out for me tonight. Never hid and looked for the ball, was everywhere. A big win, plus really heartening to see how much it meant to everyone at end. This team won't go down without a fight.
Mad how bad our attack is. So far and away the worst in the division. Hope we keep getting clean sheets but just bizarre looking at the table and seeing how appalling our goalscoring record is.
Living in Nottingham and study at Uni here, so back home:
We were fantastic. Although had less of the possession, we dominated the game, and looked like the home team. Ajdarevic was excellent, and looked like the creative influence that we've been missing for a couple seasons of now, his ball through to Obika to set up Cousins goal was perfectly weighted and his skill in moving us in to good positions was crucial. Sordell played well and looked sharp, but Obika was even better, and looks like he could be our goalscorer. Poyet quality again. Cousins was good but did miss a few chances, hopefully his goal will give him the confidence he needs in front of goal.
Overall, delighted with the performance, so solid defensively and caused real problems in attack. It was my first time watching since Powell's departure, and although being very pro-Powell, there's no doubt that's as well as I've seen the team play in a while. Was a lesson in how to truly work the 4-5-1, under Powell the one would be isolated and left as a lonely target man, tonight we had Reza, AA and Cousins running in behind and played some great one touch stuff around the box but especially on the counter. If we can play like that for the rest of this season, we'll be staying up comfortably.

Well done to players, management and fans alike.
