I feel almost guilty just for thinking this but I sought of, kind of, almost quite like Jose Riga.So far so good!
He definitely has a calm and pleasant demeanour.
I liked the fact that within a couple of seconds of us scoring he was focused again telling the team to 'use their heads' and calm down for the final minutes.

I agree I do like Jose and its as people have said... Its not a crime to be a fan of both Powell and Riga... Especially as its not like the latter was the one to force Powell out, its not his fault he's replacing a popular guy who has been respected at the club for the last 15-years
Am actually really impressed with the effort he's making to get on the fans side (Saying its all about Charlton rather than him after Huddersfield / keeping the players out after the win last night)... He's much better than some of the wooden moany managers we could have ended up with
In a very tricky situation, so far Riga has said all the right things, and done enough on the pitch to suggest that while most of us would prefer Powell to still be in charge, he's a decent (short term?) replacement.
Didn't really notice it last night at the game...too busy jumping around like a loon...but saw the goal on SSN last night and we seemed to have about 300 people on the bench with Riga, all congratulating each other and pumping the air at the final whistle.
Great to see the joy on their faces and the all round congratulating of each other as a real team effort!
If Jr keeps us up he goes down as a legend in my book?
We were 1/2 (odds) to stay up funnily enough when JR took charge, bookies had us as 4th favourite to go down due to the games in hands. I'm not quite sure him keeping us up makes him a legend, mind the word is very easily brandished around. CP has took over 10 years to earn that title, our fans are losing sight of reality if JR is a legend for keeping us up. :-)
some yng guys near me last night tried to start a song about Riga and one middle aged lady insisted on singing about Chris Powell FFS !!!!!!! are you Charlton or Powell ? its done its over right/wrong its over.Either support CAFC or wait till CP gets another team and go follow them-------------pathetic.
shame it wasn't Powell that has (so far) turned the season around for us .. Riga appears to have the ability to set up a team in a better manner than Powell and is more consistent in his team selection .. nice to see that so far, Powell's coaching and back room staff have been retained .. long may our successful run last .. Burnley on Saturday will be a real acid test .. shame I won't be there
Riga has been helped by having the likes of Dyer hanging on to give him the benefit of their experience of these players and this league - but I think that was a deliberate decision. Often the assistant is sacked along with the boss, or given a few games until the new manager steps in - and is then swept under the carpet. Riga has done very little wrong in my eyes, of course I would have liked to have seen more goals than one added time header but if people were willing to cut Powell some slack due to the (low) quality of the players then surely JR deserves the same!
When I heard people singing Jose Riga's red and white army last night, my gut instinct was , that's just plain wrong , but he is our manager guys and he needs our support as much as the players do , Chrissy Powell would want us to do well , whether he was the manager or not.
Just accept that new owners want their own people and you will be all right , so stop all this boycotting season ticket nonsense, and get positive , your club needs you!

maybe he was injured then : - )

As others have said, it's churlish not to support your manager & team, just because your favourite was sacked.
We all need to move on. I'll never bad mouth Powell, but now I support Riga. He too seems to be a decent bloke.
