JOSE RIGAS RED ARMY!

  • A win against Burnley on Saturday and i'll be willing to let Jose be my friend.
  • I dread to think what you'd have been willing to let him do if we'd beaten Millwall

Trust me you really don't wanna know lol
  • Dont think anyone has blamed JR for what had gone on, but it is patently obvious problem is up front. One goal in injury time in three games suggests not ought of the woods yet.
  • Didn't JJ force the corner, and take it for Dervite to score? In the circumstances I'm glad he wasn't subbed.
  • I am upset about losing Chrissy but Riga has been a bonus. I feared the worse but he is clearly picking the side and he is a positive manager. I don't really want to like him, as our manager, but I do.
  • Seen a couple of tweets about signing JR name as another low point for the club!!!

Are we Liverpool when we just sing Red Army...Red Army...Red Army?
  • You need to change your name as well to redandwhitecarter

    No, just irritating : - )

So far anyway, I like what I see from Riga. Yes we need more attacking threat but that's hardly his fault.

What I do like is his willingness to encourage and change things from the sidelines. Last night, whilst Wilson was getting some treatment, RIga called JJ over and spent a good 30 seconds or so explaining what he wanted to see more of from the forwards, especially Obika. JJ went back onto the field and got the message across. I guess it's not a coincidence that we picked up our threat for the remainder of the game.

For all we loved CP we never saw that kind of pitch side support or instruction and at times he looked lost.
  • Jose , i'm very happy win the win tonight , but we need to start scoring more goals earlier on , rather than scoring in the last minute , as i can't cope with this much excitement at my age.

Scoring that late is great as give us no time to cave in and conceed!

  • An encouraging start

he was also dead on his feet, when he scored v QPR - that is what character is about

  • Without getting into a Powell v Riga debate his decisions today were proactive, bold, decisive and spot on. Nice one Jose.

    Agree with that large
Take ineffective players off hariott and green
    Reading the game well
Bringing on subs to make things happen
Not wait till we are a goal or 2 behind a it's a lost cause!
  • Without the last minute goal......
Why is he bringing strikers on (obika and Sordell) and playing them on the flanks square pegs in round holes
How did Church stay on the pitch for 90 mins he could play all year and not score a goal
Jj was dead on his feet and can't last 90 mins why didn't he use the last substitute

But thankfully the last minute winner arrived and "I'm in heaven , SE7 ,I'm in heaven , Charlton"

We need JJ on the pitch as he and AA are the only people who can take dead balls in the squad, JJ has been involved in most of our recent goals and in a team as goal shy as ours that's crucial.

  • Harriot was INJURED

He was subbed off because he was INJURED

When he left the pitch he was INJURED

The reason he was subbed wasn't tactical but because he was INJURED

Yes he did and for that I'm delighted he wasn't subbed, superb corner and great goal, superbly timed imo because I only needed to bit my nails for a couple of minutes!. If JJ had been subbed, as one person here believes he should have, we would have only got 1 point and still be in the bottom 3.

I think I read somewhere that it was because he was ineffective like Green.

What are you trying to say Henry?

I guess what was strange for some people is if he was INJURED... Why didnt he go straight down the touchline to get checked out as you see players so often do... and why did Riga feel the need to put his arm round Harriott and explain the substitution as from where I was sitting it looked like Harriott was asking him why he was subbed?

Praising Riga doesn't mean you're slagging off Powell.

Listening to people after the game you would think you could only support one or the other.

It was great to sing his name last night as a show of support, the one thing we can all agree on is the team needs our full support.

I don't want to be a killjoy but I really can't see what effect he's had on the players.

Yes we try to pass it more in our own half.......not very well i might add.

We were turgid against Hudders, Millwall and Bournemouth...

tonight was a very very lucky win.

I know there is going to be a barrage of "we're unbeaten, we haven't conceded" but from the three games i've seen I think we've been pretty awful and I'm defo not calling him the saviour/messiah just yet

It's a results business. Don't give diddly squat if we don't perform great just along as points go on board.
    It hasn't been bad.
We know we cant score in a wh**'re house full of desperate 70 year old homeaphridites (not that you would want to) so we make a good job of protecting our own goal and not conceeding. Bournemouth barely got a sniff last night, and eventually, we put one in ourselves, after hard work and the odd chance before devite stepped up.
Miga, to give him credit of so far far so good, has not witnessed a ball in the back of our net yet.
    Difficult week coming up though.

That's exactly what I thought , especially not going down the tunnel , didn't see no ice pack ect.

Unless of course Harriott was saying... "Couldnt you have left me on till Half-Time where the physio could have taken a look at it"... But like you say no ice pack etc...
