  • The only good point of the night, to the Huddersfield fans it probably just came across as random loud support, but to anyone in our ends it was quite emotional. The least CP deserves for what he's done for the club
  • Thought it was brilliant.

  • A touch of much needed class and dignity
  • Was emotional. Seeing the whole ground stand up for one minute and then move on. We can stay up.
  • It was superb. Great that all the Charlton fans joined in. A definite highlight of the evening.
  • Had to explain to some blokes behind me what was going on - they then joined in.
  • Superb idea, thanks to Brockley. A very moving tribute and heart warming to see people in the directors box joining in as well. Calm and dignified, well done to all concerned.
  • Was brilliant, I think it showed how well Powell was supported to, the whole ground stood up and joined it.

A very emotional and fitting tribute, great idea Brockley as others have said above.
  • Very emotional, bought a tear to my eye. Seemed to me to galvanise the team as has our support at games when we thought CP at risk in the recent past.

A clear demonstration of the part we play as supporters. Love our club, jury's out on the new owners and who they have bought in.

My biggest worry is that so called supporters who do not understand why SCP was so important, and will never understand why he will always be important. They do not understand the soul of the club and will probably never will. What tonight showed us was that the vast majority of supporters do.

Thank you to all that took part. Proper Charlton.

Well done to everyone who got this going. Great to see some on the non-directors side of the directors' box join in too.

Even the big screen had a picture of Powell in the lift advert shortly afterwards. Doubt we'll be seeing that again!

  • Even Roland was applauding in the directors box, although he remained seated.

Was Roland there then? I sat a few rows in front of the directors box and didn't see him.
  • A fitting tribute - it sent a shiver up my spine. I hope CP gets to hear of it and understands just how highly he is respected and appreciated.
  • Delighted this idea took off.

Completely lost on Roly Poly if he really did join in the applause...

  • A truly great idea and very proud, emotional and overwhelmed by the crowd's response. People around me who didn't know about it, joined in very quickly. Great tribute to Chris. Thanks for the idea.
  • not sure if others would be up for this but maybe another minute cheer/applauce for chris on saturday at 3.03?

    We'll be 2-0 down by then :-(

Personally last night was more than enough. Time to move on now

  • Great stuff.

Not for me, we did it last night and it was good but now we have to move on now.
  • Highlight of the night and a fitting end to an era
  • time now to move on

Yup sat inbetween Richard Murray and Katrien in a red scarf.
  • time now to move on

    Agreed
  • I think if it was done on saturday it would dilute the effect it had last night.

Plus you don't want to look like them idiot Chelsea fans doing it for months.
  • Agree with others time to move on.

We have done or tribute now. Chris knows how we feel about him.
  • Saw it reported on Sky Sports news this morning so Powelly will surely see/hear it.
