I know he's not dead or anything, but would it be good to give a one minutes applause on the third minute to show our appreciation for a club legend who might not be back for some time.
What do you lot think? Sorry if it's already been mentioned
I think it is ridiculous, one minutes applause should be as a mark of respect to the memory of a person who has passed away. I honestly can't believe some of the hysterical overreaction on here to a football Manager getting sacked. I get it that he was a Club legend a very nice man but we are bottom of the table. Parkinson was sacked when we were in a play off position. There was no wailing and gnashing of teeth when he left. He was a very nice man as well. What next, hire a plane and fly over the ground with a banner trailing behind saying We love you Sir Chris.

Its a one minute applause. If anyone is over reacting about anything its you.
Mark of respects are done before the game.
Fans do their own ones during a planned time. Everyone said its a ONE OFF and it would go a long way to draw a line under an era most of us have enjoyed.

Parkinson had not turned the club around and won a league title with record points.
If you dont wish to do it dont that's fair enough.
Are you lot serious or on a wind up , we have a new manager now let's get behind Him and the players can't believe some of the stuff Iv read , booing ect , how is that helping you really think the players wanna hear that , your grown men sort it out !

Whats wrong with a one min applause?
One min applause. Move on.
Not really sure the players will mind us saying thanks and good bye as I am Completely certain thats exactly what they did yesterday at the Training ground. No one is getting hysterical.
I don't see a problem with this it's a thanks and good bye, would be great if it incorporated Stand up if you love Chris Powell, then after it all sing Jose Riga's Red Army.
A nod to the new manager that he is welcomed but a solid Goodbye to CP.

We didn't get to show our gratitude before he left (certainly not at the end of Sheff Utd) so this way we can show our appreciation early in the game before moving on.*
*until we go 4-0 down in the 20th minute and everyone can start singing Chrissy Powell's Red and White Army.
This is a great idea but only if the majority of people in the Valley know about it, with all due respect to CL it does not reach the majority of the fans so how are you going to inform the masses, if you don't then there is no point in doing it.
Comments
Absolutely! A great idea.
Get some public notification and thanks out the way, and then move on.
BRILLIANT IDEA
The closing of an old era at the start of a game, and the moving on to the new one.
Surely no one could say this is a bad idea ?
Whilst singing stand up for Chrissy Powell?
