Contacting the club regarding the Powell decision.

edited March 2014 in General Charlton
The address for anyone wanting to contact the club regarding Chris Powell's sacking see below.

This is OUR club. We the fans are the ones who pay the money to watch the team. We the fans are the blood of it all.

Please don't be rude or abusive when emailing.

Are we changing from supporters to customers???

Is the network now more important than the club individually???

supporters@cafc.co.uk

Ben.Kensell@cafc.co.uk is not the email address according to some lifers...

  • Unfortunately another yes man, wont make a jot of difference but by all means try.
  • Are you for real?
  • Genuine question.

What do we expect to happen by contacting the club.

    Powell to be reinstated?
  • It's giving the club some reaction to the decision directly.

No I don't expect him to be reinstated but i sure as hell want to tell them I what I think.

And yes @beckboy I am "for real".
  • Best of luck

I don't think anyone expects Powell to be reinstated. It's not about that. It's about making the owners justify the decisions they are making in relation to our club. Jimenez and Slater were allowed to run the club behind a wall of silence, they weren't questioned enough when they failed to invest in the club following promotion, and they weren't questioned enough when they weakened the squad in the summer by releasing good players and replacing them with poorer players (or not replacing them at all).

The new owners have sold our best players and now sacked our manager, I want them to justify that. It won't bring Kermorgant back, it won't bring Powell back, but if people actually start questioning the decisions made by these people then they may at least think twice before making their next ill-considered decision. Alternatively we could just all renew our season tickets, not make a fuss and just let them get on with guiding us to the bottom of League 1 and beyond.
Fair enough. Good luck with it.

He dealt with protests at standard leige. I'm not sure a few emails will make him think twice but crack on with it. You never know.

  • I'm afraid this will only be OUR club if we can find £25m.

It's not even RM's club anymore and hasn't been for ages.

We are what the yanks would term "collateral damage".
  • Some of out fans are so sad. It's embarrassing. Get married or get a partner or something. Stop going on a about a person you don't even know.
    Get a life.
  • "Football Club Sack Under Performing Manager" shock.

Seriously - if it wasn't Chris as manager you'd have been calling for his neck months ago.

    Get a grip everyone

Give an electrician plumbing tools he can't do the job. Same thing here . Powell given players he didn't want and essentially sacked, for, refusing to play that clown Thruam
  • Ha! Lets us know how you get on.
  • Pretty sure Ben Kensall's email will be set up to filter anything straight to Trash.

    Absolute waste of time.

Agreed. As I've said above without questioning or challenging these decisions the owner will continue to make decisions without a care in the world for what we want.

Id rather pay my hard earned money knowing the club cares about what the fans want for the club. Rather than pay money to better the "network".

I totally agree MrLargo. They need to account for the decisions they are making.

It's a little obvious that they got rid of Chrissy because they didn't like that he wasn't playing the crap they were bringing in.

That is not fair. And yes, if that is going to happen going forward then it concerns me.

What also concerns me is the number of flippant fans who appear to not be bothered by this. You have a voice, you should use it and stand up for the principle of the matter.

What, from a pragmatic not emotive, perspective from selling players who had refused new contracts (and with whom we were struggling anyway) and sacking a manager who, whatever the hand he had been dealt, had guided us to the bottom of the table? Far from "guiding is to the bottom of League 1", I would suggest that these measures have been taken to give us a fighting chance of this not happening.

It's not like it’s a case of if its not broken don’t fix it. It is broken and therefore he is trying to fix it.

I'd rather try and do something to let them hear our voices. Rather than watch this club lose it's identity.

this - time to move on and get behind the new guy
  • Agree with the sentiment, Cray, but just think emailing Kensall is completely pointless. He's only interested in "managing his customers" - wouldn't have a clue what it's like to be a real fan...

I agree they were not world beaters, but they were the best of a bad bunch. Would you rather Kermorgant or Tudguy??
  • TBH @Sidcup_Robin‌ I'd wager money that they got rid of him because "they didn't like that we were playing crap"

Mate to be fair I've asked for it to be forwarded. I see this being the first step on a real sh*tty road. Clearly the "networks" priorities are taken over what's best for the club individually.

Ultimately they would offer Powell a new contract if they thought he was not the right man. He just refused to be the Yes man. Which led to him being sacked.
