I'm really not sure if a boycott will achieve anything given the current circumstances. Emotions are running high - I'm gutted for Chris and the team - but I'm also trying to remain realistic.
The current situation is this:
1. We are not financially stuffed at the moment 2. The owner has a plan - even if we don't like that plan - which is more than the previous regime had 3. His statement on the OS re Chris' sacking states that the aim is to make a replacement who will prevent relegation.
My view is that owners, managers and players will come and go. It's inevitable and a fact of life. But the heart of the club will always be the fans, so we need to keep turning up and be the club. We are Charlton.

FFS, don't ever question my support of my club. You know nothing. I support the club and the players just not this **** from Belgium
What the hell has his nationality got to do with it???? If he was from Norwich would you say "this **** from Norwich????" Who knows where this will end up? I was a season ticket holder for 10 years including the years Powell played for us and they were the glory years...he was a legend. I moved to Canada in 2005 and have not seen them live (apart from my trip back to England last year when I saw them play Birmingham) until Sunday against Sheffield Utd...what I can say about that game is I have not seen such an embarrassing performance as that from a Charlton side...they were truly awful in every sense. If it was not for the fact it was Powell the manager would have been sacked a while ago. I would have loved to see Powell succeed...maybe he was not given the chance to succeed but it is clear something has to change. Boycott matches???? Have a word???? Nationality???? Have a word???
I don't get people's problem with this feeder club tag? We've always been a feeder club mainly to the prem ie Shelvey and jenkinson! But surely to be loaned a top clubs fringe players is a good thing?

Feeder club isn't exactly the most depressing spin on it, we are essentially more so a soulless, identity-less reserve team of theirs. As it stands... We've took a load of dud's they don't care about and half of them can't even get into our team, during a RELEGATION BATTLE. Imagine if and when we drop to L1, the same happens again and off goes our good players with a price tag. Rinse and repeat.
Powell was and always will be a legend but something had to change.
It's never been easy being an Addick - let a new chapter begin
Why couldn't that something that had to change be Chrissy getting some backing in relation to players?
Because rightly or wrongly Chris Powell wasn't buying into RD's vision of how the club would be run. It's Roland's money and if there was no agreement as to how it would be spent there was no obligation for him to be given it. In a power struggle Roland was always going to come out on top. You can debate the ins and outs or rights and wrongs but Roland had no more reason to compromise than Powell did - and in fact at least 14 million reasons not to.

Are they a top club though? Just because they have a decent chance of Champions League each season doesn't make them AC Milan? The Belgian League is poor. I like AA and think Reza may do well for us but we're hardly getting top quality are we?

toys out your pram comes to mind!
Pot, kettle, black. Don't question other peoples' support if you don't want the same in return. Some of us don't think that abandoning the team in a dark, dark hour is the way to show support - some of us don't even think RD should 'fuck off' in fact. You have no right to decide if they're right or wrong.
Make nice buns those Belgiums ....you should try one Charlton Boy ...and calm down and get yourself down the valley and do what you enjoy ....following the CAFC.
Stay calm and relax and maybe a pint or two will do ya good,
It's not as if the team are coming out to the theme tune of Poirot, Sam Bartram's statue has been replaced by the Manneken Pis, the kiosks have replaced Snickers with Guylian and Floyd & Harvey are now Snowy......
I will send you a signed picture of David Suchet to calm the nerves and bring you back into The Flanders, I mean The Valley.....
Does anybody think Standard Liege would win the Championship. I suspect RD thinks they would walk it, but the Championship is the 4th biggest League in Europe with attendance outstripping serie A! Getting Man City's reserves may be one thing, but I think the reserves of a team in a weaker league may not actually help us too much. So they will be playing in the Champions League? Well I think the only record held by a Belgian club in the Champions League is I think a 10-0 defeat!
We really do have some right drips for fans don't we.
Yes boycotting would be a strong and direct way to put across that most fans are not happy. And yes money bags would soon piss off.... However, people will not do that. They'll moan but go along with it anyway.
I for one though, would love to see him clear off, (I opted for the polite way to say that)!

That doesn't mean I don't want the team to do well. Don't want him having my money.
I can only begin to imagine what will happen in the summer...
