Nice of jacko, hamer and Hughes to clap the fans

Today's performance was poor and Powell got it wrong but none of the players on the pitch or Powell wanted to today to go as it did. They all wanted to go through and it wasn't to be.

What amazed me about today was that only Jackson, Hamer and Hughes (who didn't even play) were the only players to come over and clap the fans.

It was also nice to see Powell take the time to shake every united players hand...and then barely glance at the fans as he sculler down the tunnel.

We have all spent a lot of time and money on today and the performance aside...that was a disgrace!

  • Very un powell like.
  • Poyet walked over and clapped.
  • Really don't care
  • Were they being booed at the end? I mean would you go over and clap a bunch of people booing you? That woud be a bit weird to me...
  • Seems a bit weird to me that players would get paid for a job they can't (or won't) do
  • No they weren't being booed...the sculked off like the losers they are while the fans and Jackson clapped each other...the only people that had put any effort into the day
  • Yeah, they decided on the bus they wouldn't do it today, they didn't really want to go to wembley at all actually...
  • Amazed to hear CP and most of the players did not acknowledge the fans after the game today, especially with the numbers who travelled.

Another conspiracy theory in the making? Hope it means nothing but never happened before?

Really :s or did I watch a different game ?
  • Nice!
What would have been nice would have(win or lose)been a good TEAM effort on the pitch and the the whole team and staff come over to us fans!
    That would have been nice!

I think WSS is a little...angry, right now.
  • I did notice 2 lines of police across the field and in light of the pitch invasions after the Forest game maybe the police asked them not to go over to the fans?
  • I'll give um nice
Buy keeping my s/t money firmly in my pocket
  • The fans were booing at the end. Hardly anyone clapped the players that did come over. Thought our "support" was very poor- team did nothing after their two goals but neither did we. It took the stuffing out of the lot of us and I was very disappointed with crowd reaction at the end.
  • Weegie - The team did nothing for the whole game, except pass back and give the ball away.

What was the shots on target count for us ???..........one ? two ??

That was shocking and Charlton don't deserve 5500 people hiking up the M1 on a Sunday morning with performances like that. Dreadful Church, Awful Reza, Turgid Tudguy.........absolute rubbish.
  • Well just stay at home and watch it on telly next time, Phil.

    Who said I didn't ?
  • Morrison, Ajdarevic and Wilson were the first ones to clap the fans
  • Not for me to comment but I reckon management, players and subs should have been over to you to applaud the support. Think your support showed that the 'magic' of the cup lives on and can't be faded by TV.
  • As much as I was upset how no gonads a lot of our players had today, after the final whistle pretty much all the players clapped the fans, they didn't come over in a big group

Magic 1889 - the magic of the Cup peaked for us in 1947. It's been woeful ever since.
  • "...Awful Reza..."

A bit harsh on Reza. He only got 20 minutes, had a good strike well saved and, frankly, didn't get much of a chance to do anything seeing as by that time all of our defenders and midfielders were passing the ball to Sheffield United players whenever they got the ball. He may not have had a Messi-esque cameo, but I'm not sure what you expected him to do really.
  • There was plenty of booing on the left-hand side of the lower tier.
Players coming over would have just been depressing.
This 'They didn't want it' is just the biggest load of bollocks. It was a quarter final ffs.
  • Powell failing to acknowledge or clap our fans was really unlike him. I wouldn't be surprised if there is something going on behind the scenes that will come out in the next few days. I have a feeling CP will be leaving soon. Feels like RD will get to save his £4m from Charlton being relegated.
