  • Well done Powell shrugs if off like water on a ducks back

The lack of desire, fight and tactics stood out more for me than one missed chance

Couldn't agree more - embarrassing excuse

Don't hide behind Harriot Ffs Powell
  • Blame it on a young player then Powell, that'll help!
  • As the saying goes .

A bad worksman always blames his tools
  • The miss didn't help that's undeniable but if Chris can't see that it was team tactics and lack of passion that were to blame then he's got his head stuck somewhere. Don't much like the singling out of Harriot either.
  • The lads probably gutted as it is well done Powell blame him that will do the trick for his confidence
  • well 1. it was a sitter 2. hes not done a harry redknapp has he hes worded it quite diplomatically 3. what hes saying is true the game could easily have been tottaly different because of it...
  • If we still had mendonca, bent, hunt,or even bwp people who netted us bucket loads of
Goals could also made a difference

  • I thought it was a far more difficult chance than it looked. He was stretching off balance and came at him quickly. You can't expect to score from your only chance in the game. You have to create three of four chances then you have a good chance of putting one away. We lost because we played very poorly and as usual created next to nothing all game.
  • Wrong to say Harriott's miss changed the game, because it was the only real chance we had up to then. His miss did not somehow make Wiggins go AWOL so they could score from an equally rare chance at the other end. (Wiggy by the way was not very good today and he is one of our senior players now.)

I like Powell but that's lame.
  • Powells biggest error and it is ongoing is persevering with Jordan Cousins at right midfield. He is simply worse than average there. Given the lack of options available I think Nego should play full back with Wilson at right midfield. If CP doesn't fancy Nego then play Reza wide right. You know why it won't happen ? Because it's too ambitious. At the moment CP wants to defend every game to death until it's too late. We would score more if we played at least some of the time in offensive mode. Big CP fan but he's now part of the problem.
  • The 'game changer' was all 11 of the first team playing terribly for all 90 minutes.

I very doubt our defense would've held out if we'd have scored that chance. Wood and Wiggins were dire and the midfield didn't put many tackles in the entire game.
  • I'd rather Cousins played right back and Wilson in midfield
  • I expected nothing more from the game after my 40+ years supporting Charlton. Its the 'hope' that kills you in the end. I thought to myself maybe our luck is changing with a new owner etc... but in the back of my mind I keep thinking 'nope its Charlton'. CP has been Charltonized over the years so maybe a hungry young foreign coach with no pre-conceptions of us might be a breath of fresh air like RD did at SL. I would like to have seen that team set up to have ago at them. Give Reza a go as he had more chances than Tudgay in his 5 minute cameo and Cousins and Poyet in the middle with AA on from the start. That team was set up to take us back to the valley for a replay IMO.

if swinging on the crossbar after a massive win isnt passion, what the fuck is??? Shouting and screaming from the dugout and jumping up and down?! That does nothing. Ask any player at any level, all it does is tire out the manager, have is thoughts and judgement clouded and make him look like a massive clot in front of his bench and the opposition's.

Lack of passion by players not Powell. Not sure I saw too much of it.

  • So erm... what do people think of Cousins playing Right Midfield?

    He can't - simple as.

  • Strange that, considering he's probably played more games on the right in his life than in the centre.
  • I would have liked to have seen Nego at RB and Wilson in midfield. Least team would look a bit more balanced. Nego can't have been that bad at Wigan as has not been seen since!!!
Least playing them is more round pegs in round holes rather than Powell playing square pegs in round holes!!!

Agree being pushed out there to accommodate JJ in middle. Daft.
  • I'd rather Cousins played right back and Wilson in midfield

Spot on Cousins has defensive and right back experience

And CP states that Callum had a good game, really? Poyet again came out with credit along with Wilson perhaps.

  • Poyet saw a lot of possession but was very deep today wasn't he ?

That is embarrassingly stupid comment ..

He's not playing well there simple as that doesn't matter how long he's played there!
  • Nego was decent enough against Wigan. Looked quick and ready to get stuck in, wouldn't mind seeing him again imagine we will with our fixture list
  • From where we sat at the other end it didn't look like a sitter but I can't bring myself to watch any of the recording of the game so maybe it was.
