  • Total bollocks again from SYP, these lot are a joke.

A few seasons ago, they warned my dad who is in his 70s for his behaviour and attitude because when he explained he was standing because the person in front was standing and it was the only way to see the game.

The good old SYP informed him he would be ejected from the ground if he continued to stand. When he told them he wanted to sit down but couldnt, etc they wandered off. But at half time on his way to the toilet, they pulled his to one side and using the full force of the law, informed him his attitude was that of a 17 yr old yob. He just laughed and walked off to the loo!
  • I wish the police would let us all just get on with watching a game of football.
  • It's a good job, we're not the spanners. We wouldn't anywhere to park the bandwagon.

A few years ago at Sheff Utd (we won 2-0 I think, Sam Sodje scored), a combination of jobsworth stewards & SYP chucked out a couple of Charlton fans for 'persistent standing', nothing more.
  • SYP & WYP are useless pillocks

That was the Charlton fans getting the old bill to do that so they could sit down !

This! Nowhere near the standards of the honest, reliable and trustworthy Met. Police. :-)
  • The best friend of the mrs is a copper in Dorset and Wiltshire police and regularly polices Swindon games. When we was in league one Charlton, Millwall and Bristol Rovers were the only category A games. Maybe we have an unjustified reputation?

    ChiAddick,

They probably expected us to take decent numbers. Plus the rep is justified on rare occasions.

This. Can't remember the last time we took a decent away following to a game that passed without an incident or 2

Monday morning is going to be absolute chaos on here isn't it?

    - Stewards
    - Barriers
    - Standing/Seating
    - Powell.

And where my confiscated tin drawers ended up.

Curb_it wants to borrow them for the Millwall game...

Very true now I think about it.

  • Treat people like scum and chances are they will behave like scum. I think Sunday will be lively, not with SUFC but with SYP.

Are some lifers prepared to moan about everything there is to possibly moan about?

I mean I get this is a discussion forum but people are we all sitting at our computers like...

NO Sunday is meant to be a Quarter final of a competition which could see us land a dream day out at Wembley! Let's try and look forward to it.
  • Theres always trouble when we play forest mainly because of the scab thing. It was both sets of fans that caused the trouble but we didnt help throwing a pyro in their end and invading the pitch 3 times.

shouldnt be any trouble against you as we have no reason to dislike you and you knocked our neighbours out in the last round but if you have some idiots that come looking for it, they'll get it.

"Family clubs of family clubs" still apply?! ;)

    We're definitely not those Scumwall b******s.... :/

    Sadly true mate.
  • I remember it all kicking off under the stand big time back in around 2000 - Charlton vs Charlton it seemed.
  • Ridiculous! We slate Scumwall for doing exactly that.

    Definitely happened.
  • Certainly can remember it kicking off under the stand, but I thought it was because of the stewarding, not Charlton v Charlton, might be wrong.
  • It kicked off between Charlton and the stewards that day, In fact it got quite ugly tbh. Sheffield United fans also throw a brick at our coach on the way out of the city too.

A few years ago, with time to waste, I was chatting to a member of the Orlando PD at the airport. He was letting some British kid play with his handgun at the time :-0
Inevitably, I suppose, the subject got round to armed police officers. He said that in the history of Florida law enforcement, armed officers had killed fewer people than the SYP had managed in a single afternoon. So their reputation has travelled widely.
  • Since the police in the US kill an average of 400 people per year, and Florida is one of the most violent states, I find that somewhat difficult to believe. Of course, it was probably for the best that you didn't challenge him on his statistics - he'd probably have shot you...

    I think he's referring to Hillsborough .
