Brayford & Murphy out is a big loss. A lot of pace provided by these two. Should make it more of a 'central' game, which would suit us if Poyet and Cousins are playing CM.
I saw them at Crawley last season and they won 2-0. They were tight at the back but lacked much up front. They were a young side. It's hard to imagine why they were in the relegation spots until recently.
It's really difficult to be optimistic about this game for one simple reason: it's very difficult to see where our goal(s) are going to come from. Up against an in-form team, albeit in Division 1, I think we are going to struggle here.
If this Brayford is so good, why the f*ck is he on loan at a struggling league one club?
He signed for Cardiff in the summer but wasn't getting in their team. Clough was his manager at Derby and so he was happy to go out on loan to Sheff Utd. He'd get into any Championship team though other than Burnley.
Nicely Clough might think he knows how we play from when he was at Derby but our style is shifting. Chris Powell has a good record against Yorkshire clubs at this level in cup and league and the news that they have one or two out injured can only help. If we prepare as we did for the other cup games then I trust we will edge it.
Sheffield are on fire - think we will do well to get a reply - gonna be a much tougher game than the massives - think Powell might play 4 holding midfielders - message over.
Jose Baxter did well at the beginning of the season with Oldham yet has struggled to score for Sheffield United
He was the Youngest player to start at match for Everton (beating Rooney's record) but even though he was offered a new Contract in 2012 he rejected it because he wanted to play First-Team football so shouldnt be ignored
Looking forward to the match on Sunday, should be a cracking atmosphere, especially as you lot have not sold out - which I doff my cap to, that's a great effort given that you have well an truly been screwed over by TV companies/Police/The FA (Im sure we can even find a way to blame the Massive).
We have a few injuries, although I only expect Brayford to be missing on Sunday.
A few of the posts on here pinpoint our young keeper George Long as a key player, and in the early part of the season this has been true however for the last 7/8 games we have given him a break and Mark Howard has stepped in and made himself un-droppable.
Murphy, Flynn and Scougall are the players that can make things happen for us in the final third, their counter attacking skills have been well utilised in the FA Cup run particularly.
The bookies make us favourites which I don't like, although the majority of our fans, including me, see you as the favourites.
Any of your fans in Sheffield on the Saturday night, I can recommend Leopald Square for restaurants and Division Street for drinking - especially if you like real ales (try the Old House pub).
Who are the key players for you now? Seems a few of the players you had since we last played have moved on.
Welcome Magic, would say that Poyet and Adjarevic have become our key players alongsdie the erstwhile Jacko (of course, you will be aware of, especially from free-kicks!).
Yeah I think most of Sheffield are aware of Jacksons free-kick capabilities!
Curry houses. The best one in the city centre is called Butlers. It used to be a typical scruffy (but excellent) back street place, but it has moved to a refurbished building and gone all modern - but the food is still excellent. Walking distance from the main drinking places too. Decent stocked bar in there too.
I think tonight will become an advantage if we win - keeps our momentum and confidence high. I think we'll rotate a few players tonight, some enforced but Clough has been quite clever with team selection recently.
Its a big game too tonight, a win will mean we are 'only' 8 points off the play-off places, not bad considering a few weeks ago we were 4th bottom.
I can say with some certainty that Sheffield United usually play at home in red and white triped shirts Much as I like Nigel Clough he is a relenlessly miserable scrote in interviews - here's hoping he has a reason to be come 2pm Sunday.

We are playing a third tier team not some combination of Bayern Munich, Barca and Real Madrid.
The team should treat them with respect as they are capable of beating us, but we should approach the game with confidence not trepidation.

Any Curry you can recommend?
