He was ill that is why he didn't play for U21s.

Bloody hell... What a flat end to the conspiracy theories :( lol!
  • That volley in the video is class. You don't have to be STRONG if you have an eye for a goal, he looks a big lad anyway for Christ's sake. Have we got anyone else who can score a goal like that?
I say PUT HIM ON THE BENCH, GIVE HIM A GO, WHO KNOWS HOW HE WILL RESPOND?,
AND LASTLY: CAN HE REALLY BE ANY WORSE THAN WHAT WE'VE GOT???????????
COME ON JOSE, HAVE A GAMBLE.
  • If the others can't score they might as well give us a laugh and play PP.
  • I can't help but think there is more than meets the eye with this Polish Pete mystery.

    I agree,

I am not being 100% flippant when I say that if I was signed for Charlton right now 23, about the same size as Yann Kermorgant, with a decent shot but not much pace, I would expect to have been given a game by now. The striking options at Charlton are so thin I am surprised they haven't tried putting someone like Wilson up front yet.

If he isn't playing now, he isn't going to be ready for next season, League One or not.

I’m half expecting Riga to start experimenting with fans playing up front – we can’t be far off that so it is surprising that an expensive striker is nowhere near our first team!

    I agree.

  • Can Thuram play up front?

    I agree.

Same here, he plays Joe Pigott who is still young and raw so why not this Polish guy ? He played a few minutes against Birmingham and that is it. I would give him another go even from the bench.

Probably because Pigott has looked better in training/under 21 games.
  • I can imagine there's something in the deal we wasn't told...

To be fair I think we could muster a couple of better strikers out of our support. At least they have some sort of passion.

Sordell looks like the kind of guy that would sit there without any enthusiasm or passion as the titanic went down.

Maybe that's because he knows he can swim... ;-)

"The subject of this contract may not be a professional footballer and may in fact be someone we just found on the street who looked vaguely athletic."

    ;)

(I should probably write that I agree with you in all seriousness, there must be more that meets the eye)
  • I'm still confused.. I find it very very very hard to believe that he's not good enough to make our squad or even start for the under 21s. A player being scouted by Aston Villa and Benfica who scored a lot better than a goal every 2 games HAS to be good!

    Someone must know something!

It could all be rubbish that other clubs were after him though. If they really rated him then he wouldn't be here would he? Read the u21 v Swindon thread. Useless apparently.

Well all those stories are very much there to be read on the de Graafschap fans forum, which is embedded inside the main club website. And those fans obviously adored him. The current most rational explanation, which a couple of those fans offered, is that he is finding it desperately hard to settle in. And yes, I could believe that it could affect a footballer as much as anyone else.

The oddest thing is that RD must be as pissed off as we are, because he hates splashing cash on players from outside his network.

Maybe he's got the same CV writer as Riga?
