it seems like every weekend there doing something.
I got a nice £3 Costa voucher off of someone representing SouthEastern at Victoria today, along with an apology leaflet..
The cynical git in me can't help but wonder how much money they pissed away on those 2 items as an apology when they could just.. y'know.. use that money to help prevent delays in the future?
Knowing my luck, I'll use that voucher and end up stuck on one of their trains that have no toilets and piss myself.
Signed. I have had to put up with slow running trains for ages. I can't remember a train being on time in the last five weeks when I have left work after a day shift. OK I probably only catch the same train two or three times a week because I do shift work but that's still really poor. My train home from Bromley which travels to Ramsgate always gets stuck behind a slow stopping train yet they won't do anything about the time table. I spoke to one of the guards on the train and she stated that South Eastern were giving some of the trains a 3 minute turn around before having to start their journey again leaving London. I don't think the staff are very happy either.
Signed. I literally cannot remember the last time my train home arrived on time. I set an alarm for one minute before the train is due to get to Welling and it's rare that the train has even managed to get to Eltham before the alarm goes off. Okay, it's only 5-10 minutes but it's literally every single day!
Utter joke of a 'service' and even more of a joke that they were awarded a 4 year extension despite even the DfT publicly stating that they were basically awful.
Wife has been commuting up from Hastings since mid November, can't recall her train arriving at Battle (where I pick her up from) on time once, infact it's got to the point where under 10 mins late is considered good. Went upto London on Saturday and due to engineering works our train took a different route (via Bromley South and Beckenham Junction), it took 2 hours and 15 mins to get from Hastings to Waterloo East. I pity anyone that has to commute on a daily basis using Southeastern.
Signed it. First day back at work this morning after a nice long holiday, 15 minutes late for no good reason. Staying at my parent's house in Sevenoaks at the moment - £12 to get up to Charing Cross this morning, 50pence per mile for a journey that would cost £3 - £4 in a car. Even if you factor in the Congestion Charge, the total is still comparable.

to be fair I travel to and from Battle every day and I don't think the service has been that bad, in fact I've only done about 10 delay repay claims since May. Maybe I have been lucky. I too went up to London late Saturday afternoon and the journey was unbelievably slow. Two hours to CX from Battle. This morning it was 1hr 15mins.

Kind of agree, I think she has done 2 delay forms since starting her current contract in mid-Nov (someone hit by a train and there was poor rail conditions one day and she went via Eastbourne & East Croydon). I tend to pick her up of the 6.55 at Battle (the 5.37 from Cannon Street) and generally that is 5-10 mins late.
bought my ticket this morning at barnehurst station put my card in to buy the weekly ticket £59.10, typed pin in and it said card not valid please use different card, tried the same card again machine started printing, its now printed me out 2 weekly travelcards and charged me twice aswell, any idea how you would go about getting this sorted, have rung my bank but they were v little help.

Take it to the ticket office. However, most ticket offices operate the same hours as ours so good luck.

I think the obvious thing to do is go to the ticket office at Barnehurst with your tickets and receipts, explain what happened and ask for a refund for your second unwanted ticket.

You could always try to explain this to the platform staff at Lewisham. They are highly intelligent and never just stand there looking gormless and like they'd be better off in some kind of unit for the brain dead. When you speak to them they will treat you with respect and won't give you a blank look when you ask them a relatively simple question.
The best thing to do is interrupt them when they are talking to each other, they really like that. They will stop their conversation and politely explain to you what you need to do. Better still, speak to them when the platform is packed and there are three of them standing together chatting, blocking the small entrance to the platform whilst they swing their keys about not realising they are in the way of any their frustrated paying customers who have probably only been waiting for yet another delayed train for about 35 minutes.
spoke to south eastern this morning on there customer service number, i have to send them the unwanted ticket back by recorded delivery and a scan of the 2 tickets purchased, then i will be issued a refund in the form of a cheque, i did say cannot i not just change the ticket at a ticket office but they said cannot be done, so will just have to do it this way.

Haha you maybe slight sarky, but it's actually very true!

I hope you have a nice time in the 1900s. Please bring back a packet of Opal Fruits.

A very slick and convenient way to resolve the problem. Customer Service Southeastern style.
Today at Cannon Street two of the platform staff were standing next to each other blocking the way and laughing over a section of the Standard where South Eastern trains was apologising for I dunno the late running of nearly every service or something
