El Kakouri

Can someone ask Pards to drop him, cause the bloke is becoming more and more of a liability, and get him off the sodding free kicks!

  • agree totally. Can't see what people see in him.
  • Although I cant stand him its difficult to drop him after a couple of clean sheets.

Diawarra and Boughhy is the way forward though.
  • definately, I've been saying this for ages.....how he continues to take our dead balls is shocking.
  • I third that.

We have to be more inventive from free kicks - Kaks success rate is appalling.

He always seems to make the wrong decision when defending - overhead kicks (such as the Watford game) when a hoof up the field / into touch would suffice, then hoofs up the field when there is time to build something from the back. About time he started doing the simple things well and not relying on Souley's pace to dig him out of a hole...
  • What about the total misskick in the first half.

Good job there wasnt a Wigan player within 15 yards.

As said, liability but maybe Diawarra's best partner cos of the lingo.
  • I thought he had a cracking effort just over from that freekick, seemed to be dropped from the highlights though, does better than that cultured footballer Redfern ever did for us...

    :)
  • totally agree , we've been getting away with it recently and our luck could run out soon
  • I'll get Bougey in against Citeh, more pace, better footballer, better defender.
  • whats the score with bougey, is he still injured, anyone know??
  • on the bench on Saturday

  • He can't be injured he's been sub for the last 2-3 games.
I agree with everyone above, he's a liability, 1 or 2 good free kicks a season doesn't mean he should still take them. And sooner or later one of his cock ups is going to cost us badly.

Bougy's native language is French as well - stick him in next to him

agreed agreed agreed, Young, bougey, Souley, Thatch = Solid back 4
  • no manager will change a pairing that has brought clean sheets (so far)

    :)
  • Regrettably I with Razil on this one. Whilst we are keeping clean sheets we are unlikely to see Bougherra displace El Kak, it's gonna take him costing us a game or silly goal before he is moved aside. Personally I'd get Bougherra in now, cannot see it happening though.
  • he should be blasting the ball at the wall every time and not trying to float it in...with the pace he gets on it he's bound to hurt somebody...they'll either get hurt or get out of the way the next time...

i thought Bougherra could also speak french mate so no difference or am i wrong.

I hesitate to criticise him too much because despite his shortcomings he does appear totally committed to the cause.

I have to say though that my heart was in my mouth as Walton walked across to the West stand touchline feeling for his top pocket after that stupid karate kick on Heskey. I had flashbacks to Mark Halsey making a similar walk at a similar stage of the game on a hot sunny afternoon and producing a red card.

Thank God this time it was only yellow!

I thought that was a good dummy not a miskick. Am I being generous?

Whatever people's views are on im, if we do stay up , his one the reason's why.

His long Punt's up the pitch have set up at least 3 goals that i can remember, he also set up Saturday's penalty.

People may not see it, but i thnk his long-range distribution of the ball is one reason why Pard's would keep him in.

Don't think his as bad as people make out imo.

I know you're a fan of his, but that's actually a very fair point.
  • i personally can't stand el kak, bougherra is faster, a native french speaker, has better positional sense, judges tackles well and can use the ball - get him in there, diawara needs more help than he's getting!

anyone else see the bit in the second half when holland ran about 40 yards to tell el kak not to shoot from a free kick - my thoughts exactly

and why on earth did rommers take every corner and not miss the first man, when we have ZZ and JT in the side...

How on earth can you say that? Bougie's barely played for us.

    :D
  • he was the best defender in the championship by a mile this season, living in sheffield meant i saw and heard quite a bit of him and to be honest we wouldn't spend over 2million quid we don't have on a bench warming centre half would we? if he hadn't have got done by louis saha at OT he'd be in the team week in week out - it's the reluctance to change a winning team and a successful back line that's keeping him out
  • Ah OK, still not prem though, innit? isit?

Exactly Razil, if it aint broke...

Personally would keep Talal and Diawara against City, Diawara on that litte city striker (not Vassel) and Talal on Corradi or Samaras.

Personally i think they could cope with that.

Do you not think that they're hopeful punts rather than accurate passes? I actually think he punts it long and hopes for the best. From what i've seen and read about Bougherra he can actually brig the ball out of defence which is what we need. Too often a ball is punted up to either of the Bents at 60mph and they do well to even bring it under control before 2 defenders are on them and we're back under pressure again. Bougherra would give us something extra in my opinion.
  • Most of the time he floats them over, gives time for the Benty's to make spacefor it to come down them.

If bent would ever stay on side lol .

And like i said if it aint broke...
  • you are forgetting mpenza, 2 starts 2 match winning goals - quick, strong, proven finisher - are you less comfortable now? I just think el kak makes 2 or 3 serious goofs per game, sometimes he gets away, like wigan, sometimes he doesn't and we suffer for it, like watford - now we are right down to the wire, talking tens of millions of pounds on a few games, are we 100% convinced we can risk it?

Mpenza was the little City striker.

Change it and have Bougerra come in and make a few mistakes. then we'll no doubt hear people come out and say we should have kept the Kak.
