I think Powell and his staff will be gone by the end of the season. It seems the Belgian knows what he wants and I can't see Powell as part of the equation.

Agree kap, he has to learn not to be seen to undermine owners, he does sail close to the wind. No reason to do this at present, things have been looking up on and off the pitch recently and he needs to show more positivity. Owners don't need much of an excuse to clear the decks.
I know people are going to shoot me down, but over the past 3 years i have seen so much dross football, so much of no chances,no shots on goal, opposing goalie not having to make a save,so much of me leaving the valley thinking 'i 'm not doing this again', dreadful hoofball (and that happened even during our promotion year too), that part of me thinks, maybe it is time for a good shake-up of the football club in lots of ways - maybe its time to go the way of the likes of Watford of last year - surely it has to be better than the shite i have had to watch over the past few years. When you think about it, the likes of Brian Clough would have wheeled and dealed if they had no money to spend, whereas we seem to have stuck with the same players for the past 3 seasons - maybe its time for us not to be so parochial, and look outside for inspiration and to move forward. Maybe that time is now.
think he undermined the last owners and has to be very careful with the new ones too. sometimes you need to put your head down and get on with it, like curbs in the early years, he used to say we have no funds, we have to work with that, not bemoan the lack of financials. The new guy sounds a bit more ruthless tbh, the old ones couldn't afford to change manager.

A few people said the same about Curb's last couple of years and that turned out okay so you might just be right, also to say what Brian Clough (one of the greatest manager's of all time) would have done is quite laughable as we all know Powell and let's be honest any other manager we get in would get in going to be near the likes of Brian Clough.
Not Powell's biggest fan football-wise for the reasons President says but they way he keeps the squad morale up in unbelievable.
To not support him now I think would be bad especially in our perilous position and although kind of understanding a wholesale change could be beneficial, I don't think we are that stage yet.
I read the thread, and figured the story must be pretty moody. But it's not at all. I was relieved to read it and find Powell being courteous as always. I don't think he's said anything out of turn, and certainly not contradictory of RD.

What can anyone do if they are asked the questions though?
There is an art in saying lots that says nothing. Its nice that CP is open and honest but I don't think now is the time for washing the dirty linen in public, for his sake. Just a personal opinion.
Very worrying times indeed for those of us who respect the gaffer.
Powell does sound rather isolated, as though he's not quite in the loop. We don't know whether he's being frozen out, or if it just takes time for the new regime to gear up. What worries me - indicated by the Belgian commentator's analysis in the side panel - is that Duchatelet may be content to loan us fringe players from his other clubs, when clearly we need more experienced and effective players.

No doubt the thing Duchatelet will want most is to retain our Championship status. It will seem a massive Own Goal should we be relegated.
It's obvious to all and sundry that the squad is threadbare - no doubt sufficient reinforcements will happen (loan window re-opens in February), in a patch and mend effort to ensure the club (his investment) remains in the Championship this season.
The good news for the fans is Roland's wish to make money out of Charlton. He can only achieve that if we are successful on the pitch. That's probably a safer bet than a rich fan buying the club in terms of possible improvement and, hopefully promotion. He won't make a penny if we stand still.
I was surprised with Roland this and Roland that. I don't think I've ever read or heard an article where a manager doesn't call the head honcho either Mr whatever or the Chairman.
That aside, from the outside Mr Duchalat seems to be doing an okay job at Leige. If he gets us top of the league playing decent football I'll be happy. If he does it using youth then even better.
I really don't think he has paid 20m for us to see us relegated. I also don't agree that players unable to get into Leige team will come to us. There is more money involved in the English game so there is no reason it won't be the other way round. Interesting too that CP seems to say that they is more than just Katrin over from Belgium at the Club. Who and what positions?
Don't really see how this brings on a new 'tone' to the situation for us to worry any more or less than before. Nothing has been said that we didn't already know.
As for the Belgian expert analysis on that page, I'm pretty sure that was lifted from an interview that was done on the day of the takeover. Again, nothing new has come to light that should make us worry anymore than before.
The owner has been here two weeks today. I know we all want the situation sorted, but give the hot crossed bun geezer an ounce of time for christ sake!

Standard are top of their league have they done that by only playing their youth

CP deserves a proper chance.
