Fwiw Chapple has a very good knowledge. Almost encyclopedic.
The problem is he's looking for players that won't cost a penny. If he has the option now to look at spending a few quid then let's give him a chance - just like Powell really!
Yes indeed, Swisdom. Good to hear your view of PC, but does he have any support? How wide/extensive is the network?
I talked to him a couple of years ago as I was playing golf with him. He asked who had caught my eye and I mention Kevin Alcock the full back at Yeovil. Without breaking stride he said something along the lines of " yes, the full back. Okay 5'10" but excellent in the air. And has a great leap. A good leader too. Actually like having a 5th attacker at corners. He's got 2 years on his contract and is eligible for England or Scotland. "
At the time that was spot on.
Maybe he got lucky with who I said - or maybe he is like Rain Man. We'll never know if we don't give him a chance and I dare say much of the league1 recruitment was also down to him
Category A for the youth set up. Sort out the pitch. Keep season tickets affordable. No mediocre loan players from your other 4 clubs. Giving Chris Powell a chance and letting him pick the players he wants. Sign a decent striker. Decent chips & beer.

This...although I'm not bothered about the chips and beer
All good businesses are built on a solid foundation........not a spongey, soggy bog!
Can we have a decent pitch as an emergency install so that the half decent players we've got can do their best. It's worrying that half of our games for the rest of the season will be played on 'The Valley bog'. It's an embarrassment for the club and prevents our players from performing. Visiting players, that are passing through may see it as a bit of a joke (like the scene from Blackadder goes forth - going over the top). I'm sure the joke has worn very thin on our players.
Next give Powell the security and responsibility of chosing the players he wants to keep, players he wants to sign (within reason) and players he wants to play. There are 15,000 fans out there that believe in Powell and want our success to be with him at the helm (regardless of who owns the club). If you don't agree with the above, you will find yourself to be very unpopular from now until you sell our club to someone that wants that.
2 quality attacking signings not including the one we got today, contracts for everyone, rebuild the drainage in the summer. and to push it, rally everyone and bust the bank for 2 top top players and surge to promotion then knock down the jimmy seed stand an replace it with a north stand replica. lower ticket prices to £1 for everyone and all players in the squad coem from the academy and support the team as well. i can be optimistic
AshTrays in the bar areas i am sick of stubbing out fags on childrens heads. Nice flat surfaces that are well maintained in the tiolets for sniffing off of A return of the man that shouted out "Roated Peanuts" A complusory knees up mother brown at half time on the pitch as the entertainment.
Free wi-fi, another vote for hot water in the gents, decent food and beer and the ability to get it during half time without missing most of the second half.... Oh, and maybe a decent goalscorer, a couple of wide players, attacking central midfielder and a top class centre back
Bring back TJ so that the cogniscenti on here can blame him for every poor signing and decision. A useful tool for deflecting the ire of charlton's chattering classes
