Leaving our unquenchable thirst to see our team in action aside for a minute, what are the pluses and minuses? The pitch gets a breather until Wednesday and maybe further respite on top of that if the Barnsley game goes as well. CP can put a lot more of his efforts into recruitment and contracts whilst the players get some recovery time in an enforced mid winter break. Drawbacks are that we can't keep the unbeaten momentum going and a possible fixture pile up threatens with income down in the short term. Hmm ......all in all a postponement or two is not such a bad thing is it ?
Is it against the FA rules that we cannot have a G4 pitch? The televised Rangers away game yesterday on BT was on such a pitch.Appreciate it was in Scotland with appalling weather a lot of the time but it was a great game to watch.
Artificial pitches are currently banned by both the FA and the Pl. Recent consultation with all clubs showed favour for allowing them from league 1 and 2 clubs but PL and Championship clubs voted no.
Does anyone know what the rules are on playing the game elsewhere? I recall that the FA stoped smaller clubs surrendering home advantage in order to get their share of a much bigger gate at their opponents but I wonder what reaction we would get if we said 'our pitch is shocking, we won't get it on till 15th Jan, if there's a replay that will be a week after and starts messing everyone around so can we play at Orient please?'. I wouldn't mind, and would go, though I know plenty wouldn't.
If not Orient, Dartford or Ebbsfleet or somewhere.
Any replay would be played on 4th Round Saturday 25th Jan. Crawley still have not played their 2nd round replay against Bristol Rovers which should have taken place to-day but was postponed.
Charlton Athletic FC @CAFCofficial 2m BREAKING NEWS: Wednesday's FA Cup game vs @OUFClive has been postponed. Will be played Tuesday, January 14th (7.45pm). Pls RT #cafc
Dont know why they even bothered putting it down for this Wednesday....
The Oxford fans must be getting really pissed off right now as will be the third time they've had to re-arrange their plans - Bet the attendance wil be lower now
